Awesome to see the pair out and about once more! I hope @dollywobbler was able to get a better/closer look at Brian this time, I still really want to see him do a hubnut review of a Villiers machine
I just hope I can be a part of it somehow to make sure all the facts and figures are nice n true
Sadly, even less time than the last time Brian attended! Might need a briefing pack LBF as I really struggled to recall my Invacar knowledge when filming yesterday. Got a nice video shot of Brian leaving.

Yup, per car. Purely so we can keep an eye on numbers.

187 of 200 tickets claimed so far. Looking forward to this. Very simple meets. Folk turn up, folk natter with each other, folk go home.

Very true. Someone looking to restore will definitely prefer something rusty but untouched to patched up. Sad times but definitely been there!

I shall echo all of the above comments, as they are very much in line with my experience.
The comment that I did not have the same experience needs expanding on:
I simply did not appreciate that the procedure here was to pay for a Gaydon ticket, and then you had to book something extra on a completely unrelated platform. I did not watch any youtube videos about this process, as I do not subscribe to any of the youtube-based organisers of this event. I've very little interest in youtube subscriptions tbh. Equally, I don't do Facebook for very much more than local marketplace, hence did not read anything on there about the booking process. As far as I was concerned I'd paid my money for a ticket, and that was that. I'm there for the show, not the Anti-Social Media experience.
The blokey checking tickets on the way in (after absolutely no queue, which is bloody excellent!) was remarkably non-understanding of this, as when pressed for "where are you parking?", my reply was "I've no idea, that's up to you isn't it??". After a somewhat drawn out back-and-forth, I got a remarkably rude "well, I'll let you in, but next time, fucking sort yourself out will you"
Quite frankly I'd have happily run him over after a comment like that.
As it happens, I had every intention of needing to pay for my additional passenger, but I never did in the end. Even the blokey on the museum desk didn't want to take my cash. So I spent it on other things at the event.
Excellent event. Much more laid-back and pleasant compared to FOTU. Youtube stage with amplified people was easily avoided and I met a lot of friends I haven't seen in a very long time. It was quite remarkable spotting how many (mainly Citroen BXs) cars had been on my driveway some 15-20 years ago.
Only other comment was my not really understanding why some sub-5-year-old cars were in the display areas. I'm glad there's no strict age limits, but a BrandNewCar is rather pointless being "displayed" in a slot where something MuchMoreInteresting could be.
But I will definitely be back. Especially if the booking method is simplified.
That's bloody horrific. We'll definitely feed that back.

I forgot to mention the autojumble. Something sorely missing from FOTU. It was excellent!
That was a bonus! Absolutely unrelated to the event. I didn't even know about it until someone mentioned it on the day.

The name was a problem in some ways, as our ethos has always been All Wheels are Welcome, not actually just rusty stuff. We did not want any entry criteria at all as that inevitably leads to people complaining about that is/isn't worthy.
The ticketing is something we're not happy about but stems from the fact that the people had to buy tickets in the museum and the only way for us to have sight of the cars booked in was with an entirely different system. It added complications we didn't really want, and yes, there was conflicting info here and there. Food for thought for sure.
Similarly, the original intention was only to have Vanden Plas parking. Mayfair was drive by exceedingly strong ticket demand.
Communication - yes, we're probably guilty of too much FB but we didn't really have any other one place that people were engaging with so strongly. Something to consider next time.
Overall, the day itself seemed to go very well. Having two arrival times raised some eyebrows but the result was we were never swamped.
Thanks for the feedback. It'll be included in our post-event review.

Thanks for coming folks. Still can't get over how the event was everything we wanted and more! Such a relaxed vibe.
Now I shall sleep for many days...

We're on Plan B ourselves because the Berlingo has ruled itself out...
-
We may have to rename the Mighty Dacia... Bums!
Bear in mind if you have an £11 ticket, you need a pass to enter the show or it's likely the museum will demand an extra fiver to not be in the show (not our rule).
We genuinely do not mind if you bring a daily.

Well this is my cup of tea! Often see these over in NL. I may be heading over there later this year if parts still need fetching over.

Bit of an issue with that. The museum is expecting anyone with an exhibitor ticket to be parking in the show (only found this out ourselves yesterday during a site visit).
We have zero problems with moderns in the show. All wheels are welcome!
Just put a Q&A video up on the channel and we've got lots of info at rustival.co.uk - we'll be sold out of exhibitor spots very soon!

I'm curious to know what a Kei car is really like to drive in the UK. Are these the real deal with the 660cc engine, the CVT box & AC? Please write up a proper road test style review.
Drove a Nissan (actually Mitsubishi) kei truck last year and it really surprised me. 660 automatic (not CVT) and it went surprisingly well, albeit unladen. Wouldn't want to drive down a motorway in one but more than a match for a VW T2 I'd say in performance terms.

Knew it had moved on and I've been tagged now it's up for sale again. Hope someone saves it. I know of three survivors out there now (including my old one)

I'm pleased this has been such a success (at least with the uptake).
I would like to go but don't really like the Sierra being front and centre. It's a car, not a showpiece, and thus happier with it being in the car park out of the way where people can unluckily happen across it.
Will there be visitor tix etc?
The Sierra would be very welcome. This isn't your typical show, so cars don't have to be a certain age, or a certain standard.
But, no reason why you can't choose one of our discounted tickets and ask to park in the main car park.

Have they all been processed? I booked in reasonably early but still haven't had an email.
Please check junk mail. Quite a few seem to have ended up there.

Good stuff! Sorry for the delay. As you can imagine, it's been a bit hectic. Someone has gone through every single application.
As it happens, the museum is letting us have more space so the 350 is one section and then the overflow will, I suspect, be just as interesting and diverse again.

Seems two of these are coming to friends of mine in Wales. Will the Daihatsu fit in the back of the 406?
