So this morning i want to see this 1967 Corsair 2.0 V4 GT.
It was a lovely old thing, totally original, only an amazing 23000 miles from new and remarkably solid, the underside was was pretty much perfect, the boot was mint, even under the spare wheel, I did put my hand through the front valance, both front wings weren't great, around the headlights were split and bottom of the door were going.
The engine turned over but it hasn't ran since 1987 and it was dry from water meaning the block could be split from frost (though i doubt it) but the interior was mint and completely intact, also one of the rear brakes were locked on.
We made a offer but i think it was too low, 3 other interested parties and a sister to run it through, If i didn't have the Cortina i'd put a bigger offer in but I haven't the money to spend on it at the moment sadly.
The chaps been told it's worth £2-6000 as it is but I've said it's worth nothing like that, his valuation is the same as we offered but understandable he's going to go for the best offer so we'll see.
In other news I fitted new discs and pads to the Acclaim today.
That's the only picture i took but we all know what new discs look like, it now stops much better and without shaking the car to bits which is good and in even further news I got my Focus home today, £484 lighter and the bastard thing still doesn't start so that will be going back again.

Got the Rover back, I'm £550 lighter. HG change turned into a bit of a rebuild. Not as expensive as it might sound. The price included the new" Land Rover" spec HG kit (bolts etc) new rad, waterpump, stat, 2 oil changes, 16 new tappets and proper OAT antifreeze. The car is running beautifully. The chap that did the work is a mate of mine, who has been a mechanic for over 30 years, so I'm well happy overall.
IN OTHER NEWS: We kan haz barn. We need somewhere to keep our OMG auctionshite purchases, and this is 3 minutes walk from my mate's house, and about 5 minutes drive from mine. Farmer Brown is gonna fixorate the hole at the back (at the top, the rectangle is actually a window), otherwise it's weather-tight and has electricity and water. £25 a MONTH. We're keeping them old leather chairs too.

Let me guess, as it's "steak and blow job day" I'm guessing that your mum was texting your dad to tell him that his steak was cooked medium rare and that his blow job will be well done but she texted you instead accidentally?

The most expensive £600 i've ever spent, I could have bought a decent car for that!
BTW Campbell you are a diamond mate!

This week I removed the rust from the slam panel, and gave it a quick coat of silver. Unfortunately you'll have to imagine that! While the paint was drying I thought I'd better clean up the headlights. They came up pretty well after soaking in degreaser then detergent.
The wiring wasn't in great condition, and I'd previously hacked into it for some spotlights so I decided to renew it. Keeping the original loom colours because I'm sad like that
Something which had been bugging me was the number plates - I still prefer the narrower modern font slightly (I think the Ds and Bs look neater for example) but it was annoying me on the car as it just looked plain wrong. So I splashed out £17 on a set of new plates to replace the old 'new' ones I put on a couple of weeks back!
Then I started to put the front end back together. I replaced the old rusty bolts with either stainless or zinc plated depending on what I had, put the headlights and grille back on, and new number plate in place. Bonnet catch still needs adjustment, but I'm waiting for the paint to fully harden before I tighten down the bonnet latch bolts.

Talking of strange hobbies I was watching some program about hoarding last night, this farmer chap had over 30000 newspapers and other literature and was planning to upload it all to the internet.
It dawned on me that I've been doing the same thing with car magazines and i'm turning into a hoarder. I really should be selling them off and freeing up my garage space but it's not easy.

Ooh, interesting suggestions already, good stuff guys.
It may come as no surprise at all that I went with the Austin Atlantic suggested by AngryDicky. Just ink this time around because I've not had much time to devote to it. That said, I really enjoyed this one, they're very pleasant lines to work on.

Option: apply colour for an additional £20
