trigger got a reaction from Essex V6 in The new news 24 thread
I hate to say it but I'm starting to like the Acclaim a bit now , I've managed to adjust the drivers door so it closes a little better, I've sorted the worse of the wind noise also from the drivers door rubber, The new discs and pads have transformed the braking power of the car too.
It cruises along at 70-75mph very well and it seems to be getting nicer to drive strangely. The sunroof still has a small drip right above the drivers head which is a pain but i can live with that, it could do with a a new set of tyres ideally as the old one's are old and squeal badly and offer no confidence in the wet what so ever and i still think it's pretty dull to look at.
Best of all Mrs Trigger like's it too! People at her work keep chatting to her about it as it's the oldest car in her works car park and it's not a Audi or BMW like all the other cars.

I made this for my living room... it was meant to double as a wine rack too but it spoils the lighting when filled so the wine has been relegated back to the cupboard

That's just how I feel! I got in it tonight and now the LED driver display has stopped working again, it just lights up but the mileage and info is missing.
The trouble is I can't afford to change it and it is a nice car when it's not broken, I wouldn't mind so much if it was old or high mileage but it's neither, fortunately the Acclaims running well to make up for it!

I can remember when my pal John cutting rammed those level crossing gates in his mk 2 jag cos keeper wouldnt open them cos a train was coming.
Badly injured keeper & ended up inside again.

Salutations!
This is currently coming live from the rear of David Fowler's 740 estate. Day started with the arrival of Andy CMS in his 940, then a switch over to the 740 for the journey south. So far it's going well but the M6 was closed earlier due to snow...
It'll be fine!

Well,
The deal is done... How could I decide against it with your most convincing arguments?
900 Euros was another good argument... Now I'll have to learn how to weld.
I will see how the engine runs. The plan is to fit it with my Espace spares to minimize soot:
- an Espace variable nozzle turbo which produces boost from very low rpm (Standard on some 1996 Espace, base engine is the same as the R30 one)
- an Espace Euro 2 cat and new injectors
- a system to power the glow plugs after start up (Standard espace item)
I'll let you know how this comes along...
Daniel
