I was nipping into the Spar on Foundry Loan the other night and thought I was having a Life on Mars moment as I saw these two bombing past. It was a great sight.

I've not forgotten this. I've been sleeping. Poo count still nil. The van. Inside is lined, carpeted and a bed. Needs a few jobs done. A broken mirror, cracked headlight being the worst. Drives ok with a notchy geaechange the only thing worth mentioning. I'm at scotch corner, time to get up and get more miles under the wheels.

With a very heavy heart I've decided to put this up for sale. It pains me to say this, but I'm just not enjoying it as I used to. And no point just letting it sit around, deteriorating.
Is there anyone here who would like to take it on? If you can drop me a message before lunchtime we can discuss.

When I was 15 I couldn't walk to school without hearing some wee bam in his Nova, Astra or Cavalier with a cherry bomb fly past. I shouldn't have, but I always liked the sound.
    My turn:
I've still got a mid silencer in place and another small mid box (from the Mx-5) directly behind the Kraken exhaust to keep the noise levels sensible.
Wee bit more footering required, but at least the exhaust isn't rattling on the boot floor unlike before.
I've still got a full standard exhaust in the rafters, so can put back to normal if it does my head in.

Just caught up on this thread. Looks like a great little project! Got a 1986 2.0 laser myself.....well...it WAS a 2.0 laser, now running a 24v cosworth from a Granada Scorpio and had a full body resto completed in 2019, just in time for me to get it back for CoVid and all the shows shutting down😕 (gratuitus photo of said car below)
Can definitely recommend martin at CapriGear for parts, cheaper than CCI and faster delivery too (though that advice is probably a bit late now with a lot of the work done).
Got a feeling I need to do my diff plate soon, its one of the few 'just bolted on' 2nd hand parts we used in the conversion (its now the LSD from the injection special) and I have a feeling its also got a pinhole in it going by the little blob I saw on the floor the other day. A job for next year once I have a driveway again, car was up for sale, but thanks to the financial crisis prices dropped and nobody wants it😭

As for the strut tops, dont bother with the plates, it only makes a rust trap as they were added as a bit of an after thought. People ask why I don't have them with the 24v conversion, but with the alloy heads it weighs as much as the original pinto engine!

The automotive.ai instagram account is one of my favourites. The guy has his prompts right down, and is obviously using particularly good software, to the extent that lots of the stuff looks genuinely real. I think this early 1950s Audi TT is one of the nicest cars I've ever seen

With the exception of the Calibra, they could all just about look like ready to go models.

If this tool had been about in the nineties there would have been a few redundancies at Auto Express.
