Well the old MOVE went to pastures new after the LEJOG drive, but never fear a new MOVE has arrived...

Its a 5 speed manual, not heathermillsomobile.. Gearstick wobbles like nothing else (I think a spring is missing somewhere) but in terms of performance its a huge leap up form the shagged out one i just owned. I don't have electric windows nor do I have Central locking but get this I got myself AIR CON! and it works.

Condition wise its as clean as a whistle, arches mint, found two dents on the bonnet (shame) and one on the rear door. one stone chip on the rear door and some weird scratch on the rear roof spoiler, otherwise its almost like new.

Alloys from the old Move will be fitted ASAP, and a wash and wax maybe needed.

Well I have been away from this fun location for a while,   but distance is no cure for the insane.  ... I say insane as last week I bought this monster.  850cc and Heathermill's transmission.
Its the PLUS model so it get a roof spoiler !

Sweet story... much car, headmen a number of years ago until the starter died, which would of cost me three times what i paid for the car, i think i drank a pepsi out of it last week?

Yes well i went and did it, after buying the Daihatsu Move earlier in the year, and finding out the engine was wank, I stuffed in another engine out a scrap car found locally and set off for the Norff

Two days of hard graft 50mph i arrived at the top.

On route i got Scottish sunshine

    I ate some traditional food

I got a picture of me and the car at the top

I turned around and headed south for four days

    I celebrated with cake

I stopped for fuel a few times, but this place was closed.

I tried but failed on route, to get onto Holy Island but the tide was in

All in all 1850 miles of 50mph, 7 days alone in the car, listening to what i wanted on the radio, and all done for the best reason in the world... Because i wanted to do it, and NOT FOR CHARITY

The cars used 3/4 pint of oil and no breakdowns, the car now makes some squeaks now which i will investigate later today, but back to work on Monday, but for £300 the cars did well, unlike me, who now has sore knees from 7 days of constant driving 8 hours a day.

My original plan was to do it via the scenic route, but one has to consider the distances involved when doing the trip in 7 days, one has too maintain nearly 250 miles a day, which if you want to rock around the country roads looking at things and stopping off here and there for cream tea will make it near impossible. Very early in my planning I realised that a touring holiday of Scotland and doing the end to end was nearly impossible.

I have plans for another trip in Rambo2 (the replacement MOVE coming my way sometime soon) which is going to be a summer tour of the western islands and highlands.

in a weekend i could of done the whole trip, but i wasn't about how long it took (or how short) it was more about having time to enjoy the views and just drive.....

Being a solo drive as well one had to make sure i didn't drive to far without breaks, the longest and worst day was the Cumbria M74, all the way to Devon M5 leg, 350 miles of endless motorway  , the rest was at leafs scenic.
