  1. This one may soon cease to exist thanks to ULEZ, but the fringe of East London car. A mid 2000s Japanese car such as an Avensis, it is only seen at night (albeit only just) and it usually has only one working light, which is generally a nearside front sidelight, and will often be found in the outside lane of the A12 despite the inside lane being vacant, and its driver will be oblivious to the presence of any other road users. Interestingly, there is an alternative trope for the same vehicle which is the complete opposite and insists on using front and rear foglights at all times, it's all or virtually nothing here.
  2. I love a bargain so was well pleased in the local Co-Op tonight (it's the Co-Op so probably the £1.30 for a single pack that is wrong)
  3. Inspired thread! This is probably the closest to me so far, especially the rarely washed bit, but mine is petrol so no veg!
  4. I saw this yesterday, never quite got the model registration plate thing as the manufacturer helpfully provides a badge with the information if anyone even cared, but each to their own.
  5. May have posted these before at some point, obviously been there a long time!
  6. Chap around the corner from my Mum's house had a white one years ago, I had A84GTO in my head as the reg but no idea why I would remember that, it doesn't come up on DVLA so may be wrong. I think he replaced it with a BX GTi which must have improved his driving pleasure a fair bit. As said, they were a decent banger in their day, especially with a Ford crossflow transplant.
  7. I saw photos of that the other day and thought it might be oval bound, but deserves to live on. Glad he's ditched those trims

    Man Down

So sorry to hear this, watched Nev and the rest of the Outlaws race at Arena many times
  9. That's interesting, I was surprised when I looked it up and it was diesel, didn't realise it was a one-off though. Ebay listing is here, was in Northampton when sold, I saw it in Norfolk
  10. Very nice Daimler Double Six spotted yesterday, 1992 J plate must be quite late for one of these?
  11. Definitely some interesting stuff visible, also a Peugeot 309 or maybe 405 in the second pic
  12. On a Facebook banger page, MoT until August, registered August 1993. 1993 Mk1 Mondeo 1.8 LX. 136500k miles. Full Ford history from new. Only 2 owners. Drives without fault. £650 firm. Southampton SO45 Posted on the '93 Mondy topic as well with more pics
  13. On a Facebook banger page, MoT until August, registered August 1993. 1993 Mk1 Mondeo 1.8 LX. 136500k miles. Full Ford history from new. Only 2 owners. Drives without fault. £650 firm. Southampton SO45
  14. These two Rovers were within a few spaces of each other. Coupe is a 2.5 diesel.
  15. Form an orderly queue for these secondhand wiper blades
  16. It won't be a scam, pretty sure it's for banger racing and he's selling the bits that aren't required. 119 is his race number.
  17. They wouldn't budge at all for me, had meerkat quotes starting from £213 against DL renewal of £275. Because all the meerkat quotes were £250 voluntary excess and my voluntary with DL is £350, they kept on about it not being a like for like quote, even though the cheapest quote was £250 voluntary and £200 compulsory compared to £350 + £100 with DL so both £450 in total. Even explaining that upping the meerkat excess to £350 would bring that quote down if anything, didn't help. I've told them I'm not renewing but wonder if it's worth having another go and hoping to get someone more sensible. My annual call to Green Flag for the breakdown cover was much less hassle, renewal is always dearer than the same cover offered online to a new customer but they will always match it with no quibble, so managed to chip £11 off, unlikely to change my life!
  18. I've just had my renewal letter from Direct Line, £275 compared to £196 last year, I know everything has gone up but that's quite a jump, clean licence, full no claims, 52 year old with an old person's car (Nissan Note 1.4). I must have had a quote from the Post Office at some point before as I had an email from them offering a quote, put my details in and it came back at £380!
  19. Great photos, I know there are few others on here that follow banger racing, I'm guessing this might be the yard that Bow May 'M' operated from, theirs was definitely in Cantrell Road and I can see a couple of bangers in the yard as well as the Mk1 outside
  20. This is obviously jaw-droppingly awful, but I'm almost impressed that the seller managed to write a 550 word description with no full stops and just one comma.
