  1. Pictured here beside my neighbour's MK2 Polo* The size difference is interesting *The Polo is owned by a young lad across from us, who inherited it from his grandfather, and he's been running it as a daily for a couple of years now. In honour of his grandad he will not restore it or 'improve' it at all, choosing to keep the mismatched wheel trims and missing trim bits as they were when his grandad had it. He's only done essential mechanical jobs, such as welding, carburettor overhaul and head gasket. I have mentioned autoshite to him before, I think he'd fit it well here!
  2. No, that's Violet. Claire is my fiancée No cortinas yet. I didn't know either, I'm glad though More spots
  3. The Fiat Regatta style saloons I saw yesterday are Tofaş Doğans , they are the Turkish Fiat 131 successor.
  4. Claire went to grab a coffee this morning, and took some pics.
  5. Hey everyone I'm currently in Turkey having an operation on my downstairs, but enough about that....
  6. Picked up these today, Pontiac Fiero wheels. Just gotta get them balanced and then try fitting them.
  7. Fuck saving this again! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1451554655584590/
  8. We've been on a bit of a drive now, so here's the list of things to sort: Slight 'eek' from Front nearside brake caliper. Will dismantle and reassemble at some point to see if that helps. Rattle over bumps from nearside rear - exhaust mount maybe? There was an exhaust rubber in a packet in the boot, hopefully that's the solution. Boot key sticks. TADTM, it's a VW thing. Boot struts knackered - on order Radio locked. Removal keys on order to get serial number Random temp warning when cold occasionally. Reset works, but may be a sensor. Hunting at idle, sometimes. No warning light yet, will get the codes read at some point. Electric windows a bit slow, probably lack of use. Other than that, it's functional, ULEZ compliant and decent on fuel. 21 quid a month tax is a bit steep though.
  9. Sadly we've had our first falling out due to me leaving the interior light on! Got jump started by a neighbour but as I went to pull away..... Oh. I didn't want to turn it off, so soldiered on with really heavy steering. Turned it off on the A127 and did a rolling bump start and all is well now. 🤦‍♀️
  10. Meet 'Scarlett' A 2008 Volkswagen Fox with the 1.4 engine, with apparently 73 bhp.
  11. Well, let's face it, it's the only vag I'm going to be able to afford for now 🤣😂😂
  12. I tend not to do number plate or alliteration names, although I do sometimes go with colour. The Peugeot was called Jade. I was thinking Cherry at first, but then literally while typing this message I figured it out! She is called Scarlett ❤️
  13. Finally back home. Football match went well. I was the goalkeeper and I scored the opening goal ... from my penalty area 😳 With the outside of my boot. I wish it had been caught on camera! Car performed well, kept up with motorway traffic and hardly used much fuel. Should be a perfect vehicle for me. Thank you again @Doblosevenfor your help x
  14. Collection went well, got picked up from the station by @Dobloseven and we went to see the car. The lady selling it was lovely and we chatted for ages. Car is good, quite basic, perfect for what I need. Put some fuel in and forgot to take the obligatory photo. Hopped out of the car, took the picture and went to get back in and the car had decided to lock the drivers door. With the keys in the ignition. Luckily ,(after standing panicking for a minute) I remembered I'd not locked the boot! Cue me clambering in through the back to get the door open!
  15. Currently waiting for my lift to arrive. I think I'm in the right place. 🤔
  16. Arrived at Leicester now. So far one person has guessed correctly, and a few others have gotten pretty close.
  17. Clues so far. Newer than 2007, small but not a Fiat, 73bhp, bit of an animal. Next clue: Very much an 'urban' vehicle. Oh, and it is not in a for sale advert on here. Or anywhere else tbh.
