If I was to hit a G-Wizz with this vehicle, the G-Wizz would be obliterated and my vehicle would suffer nary a scratch.

A colleague with a 16-plate Audi A3 often tells me that he'll never buy a French car because they're unreliable.
This evening, a small queue had formed on the way home from work. I thought perhaps there were some temporary lights in place. Got to the front of the queue and saw my colleague's A3 was the cause of the obstruction, just sat there with its hazard lights flashing.
It turned out his state-of-the-art dual-clutch S-Tronic gearbox decided to completely lose drive and he has no breakdown cover.
I towed his car back to the yard using my unreliable 25-year-old French car. Only just got back home having dropped him off at his house.

The one I was on last November had two presenters, one was an ex driving instructor who was alright, the other was an ex-cop, presumably traffic, who was an arrogant nob who was obviously a bit pissed off he couldn’t just arrest anyone who mildly irked him anymore.  He also made references to urban Bristol and street crime which made me suspect he would be stopping and searching black people all the time given half a chance.
He spent most of the time trading insults with / telling off a mouthy retired HGV driver who appeared to have time travelled from 1976, with sexist jokes, eyerolling and smirking, he was such a throwback in his fake leather jacket and Mexican bandit  ‘tache.
I guess they both would have agreed on the premise of a young black male equals a likely criminal though.

Was really REALLY hoping I could get away without doing any major repairs on the Merc-o-barge for this MOT with the promise* that I would complete any and all welding needed this coming summer, and then MOT it again so that the anniversary comes around in decent weather each year.
Just poked a 40mm hole in the front of one of the sills.  Which means it's probably rotten for the first 500mm back from the front wheel.

Kicking the year off by actually getting a chance to photograph this Herald estate.  Street parked, used for business, and with how often I see it about likely daily driven too.  The missing bumper corner is a relatively recent thing,  no obvious signs of rot or damage so I imagine it's a bit of bad luck.  Hope they can get it sorted and keep on enjoying and using it.

I’ve told the wife not to tell people I mess around with cars anymore. Sick of peoples first sentence being “hey you know cars right? Last week this light came on, is it serious?”

I knew there was a pretty insane engine in some WW2 US tanks and I've been reading up on it and it's very interesting. Chrysler took their reliable and proven flathead 6 also used in Dodge and Plymouth and bolted 5 of them together and so the Chrysler A57 multibank engine was born. 30 cylinders 20.5 liters and 276kw was the result.

I replaced the rotted aluminium/rubber trim on the 75. It's only taken me nearly 3 years.

I sprayed the inside of the doors with silicone grease to try and stop freezing.
Couldn't get the button to stay in though.

Oh, well, it doesn't have one now!
While I was looking under the red 93 in case I'd dropped a clip, I noticed that here, where there was once metal, there is now only underseal. The brown bits could be pulled away in my hand.

No idea why the picture is upside down.
This was fine last summer so that's happened fast. The brown one went in exactly the same place too (that was fixed).

So update on the Bluebird. Matrix is out and the radiator place can’t find a core for it. A lot of digging done by me and it seems it’s cross compatible with Audi 100 cores of the same era and the measurements are pretty much identical, and I believe the pipe work is too.
He said he’ll attempt a repair but it’s close to the metal fin so isn’t sure but fair play to him for wanting to try. I think, fingers crossed my digging and research will prove fruitful as I am fairly confident so long as the sizings are there or there about a it should be a good replacement.
He’s advised to just get a new radiator which he’s sourced for around £90 which is good too as the core was too expensive. My garage have been absolutely sound. Just hoping it all comes together nicely as I’ve not seen it for a couple weeks!
