  1. A-Plus, well done!!! What was the difference between the original A Series and the newer A+ Series? Does A+ make it some kind of lean-burn unit like some later CVH's were?
  2. That Mini did very well to manage 16 years on the road. I can't help myself looking up old registrations on DVLA. The Mini apparently became black at one point before its last tax ran out on 30th June '84.
  3. I'm trying to think what car those alloys belonged to before ending up on that Corsa A? They're not GM ones that I recognise. It's a nice find though.
  4. I can remember at one time in the late '90s, my Art teacher told us that her dream car was a deep blue smoll Mercedes with a hard roof that folds in.
  5. Anyone knows about cars could easily be fixed and back up running. I don't think I was ever broken, and I don't run.
  6. Nice pic! Top feature is those Porsche-engined (not golf-engine) Seat Ibiza 1.7i Sportline alloys!
  7. So sad.😢 I'd like to think that some random horse then arrived to poo all over those little prats, while the Capri got rescued and faithfully repaired.
  8. I loved these Picassos when they first came out. A huge improvement over the old shape one that stayed on for a further 3 years. I thought they looked like nothing else at the time. But most of the ones I see in my area nowadays are sadly fucked.
  9. That 11 Turbo is a great find! Probably the smallest, yet also the quickest, car in the street.
  10. My dad had to endure the same thing from 1988 to 1991. Except his was Onion flavoured, in Maritime Blue. E74RAF. He just could not break it!
  11. I really would if it was cheaper. Not a single option on it, and the slowest diesel engine. I love it.
  12. Page 6666 indeed. Also this thread has just passed 200,000 posts (so twice round the clock since 2012). Absolutely incredible.
  13. That was very representative of that era indeed. "There ain't nooOOO way somebody goes past me in a bASe. Not if they're going the same place as me." He was well up himself because of his GL 2.0 with the all-important 'i' on the end, but I think I remember him saying that he really fancied a red Calibra (he didn't say which version), or a Mazda 626 like one of his colleague's IIRC.
  14. Congratulations on the Omega! Just over 20 years old would make it one of the newest ones. It's quite a shock that a 2009 motor can already be seen as scrap fodder. I mean, that was the year of the scrappage scheme, which I do remember like as if it happened the other day. It's also even newer than my immaculate, box-fresh '08 Grande Punto MultiJet, though I've always stayed on top of that car (not literally). Anyway, back to the Vauxhalls...
  15. I would like to try one of these. This actually has the old 2.0 N/A EW10 unit, same as in the late 206 GTi 180 (as its ad says), which I would also like a go in one day, to see if the torque steer really is as bad as they say. Prince engines will be turbocharged in one way or another when above 120bhp. I did once lease a Prince-engined 2012 DS3 THP 155 (HV12OGN to look up if you're bored) which was very quick, smooth and economical. A lot better than I thought it was going to be anyway. However, I can imagine it being a bit of a needy little thing nowadays.
  16. Yeah, I think it was only on the very first episode that he drove a nice N-reg mk1 GLX in State Blue, but straight afterwards he went posh on us by using at least 4 different mk2 Ghia X's for years before getting into Rover 75's and X-Types.
  17. I can remember D.S Reid (Robert Glenister) driving around in a fairly new at the time Juice Green P-reg mk1 Verona in several episodes of A Touch of Frost.
  18. Yes. Only up to W reg. In the UK only, it was known as the Persona from November '93 until March '00, when it was re-named the Wira. They did similar when they changed their Colt-based 3dr version from Compact to Satria, at the same time.
  19. That's a lovely find. Alberto Green 1.8 GLX. Would likely also have the beige interior with the wonderfully colourful diamond-patterned seats. And mileage has just turned 100,000 as of its last September MOT.
  20. Early ones were recalled for rust circa-2015-16. Alarmingly, this one is catching it on the boot slam panel, where the ends of the boot seal meet, some serious bubbling. And last MOT has advised against outer sills on this.
  21. I do like the MX-5 steering wheel and column.
  22. Of course. Fifteen years ago.
  23. These were selling for less than its asking price even in 1992 m8.
