  1. Sorry, probably a bit late, but any Lupos there?
  2. Spotted on the high street in Newport today. Words fail me, so could somebody else help me explain WTF is going on here?
  3. They're back. I bet they don't take their trolley back in the supermarket car park too.
  4. If you're quick, you can also double down on your investment with the seller's bargain 10k "private" plate. That's not just unique to eBay, it's the only HEA16Y PL8 in the UK M8 (+R.R.P)
  5. Love that silver cab (is it the one on the FFF plate?) and I'm also feeling a bit concerned about the close proximity of that building work to the cars. Still, nothing a nice bucket of soapy water, a big yellow sponge and a bottle of Mer couldn't solve back then. My car is a green cab, and was supposed to be the penultimate to come into the country. The last (a silver one I think) was nabbed by a VAG exec. All according to the original owner who I managed to contact about 20 years ago when I bought it. It was registered in March 1979, but built around August 78. As the inspection service was done in November 78, I am guessing it was hanging around the showroom for a while? Love the rally clip, that little Honda!
  6. The Mayor of Newport's cars outside the Civic Centre.
  7. Hi @dan95x and welcome from another VW licker newcomer. Sounds like your grandfather was a great man and by the looks of it, I own a car that probably has his DNA on somewhere! I'd be very interested in seeing photos and records of the dealership from the late 70s! Mark
  8. Came for footage of old VWs, didn't disappoint! Got me thinking that my Beetle came from somewhere in the midlands, but the number plates have Karman of Barnet written on them. So I went to check the handbook. Christ, it's a small world.
  9. All previous auction prices are published online here.
  10. I would like to think this post of mine last month helped that plate find it's rightful owner. Weirdly, I spent most of yesterday looking for early Espaces after hearing a recent Gordon Murray interview on The Intercooler Last Blast podcast. It was one of his 6 favourite cars, and he has had 3 of them. Perhaps you have one of his old cars! I know of a chap that works at my local Volvo dealer (Abergavenny), has had several MK1 Espaces in the past. I will look him up in the new year to see if he still has any spares or old cars. I believe he has a farming background, so they could still be in existence.
  11. New year's eve Breakfast meet at New Inn, South Wales.
  12. Some good autoshite plates coming up in a DVLA auction this month. Not for me, but would be GR8 for some if they don't get too pricey. Plus auction fees, plus vat plus assignment. https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B251#cars
  13. Please buy one of these. I believe the Maestro was at FoTU this year. https://www.exchangeandmart.co.uk/ad/26980686 https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1419738
  14. https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKBarnFinds/permalink/1750745941949526/ I love these, the large family next door to me when I was a kid had loads of them that inevitably died and another slightly less rusty was procured. There's one in my profile picture. I could relive my youth for HFM?
  15. Is it the photo, or is the bonnet pogweasle pink? If so is that the Proton pork sword special edition?
  16. Well I managed to do almost 400 miles last weekend to Shitefest as a test of roadworthiness, so will hopefully see you all on Saturday. Loads still to do, but that's what Friday night is for. Here's a Welsh piss vista for inspiration. Mark
  17. Also, my old Golf Country, complete with Autoshite private plate and winter tyres that came as extras with the car when I imported it way back in 2000. That would have made a great collection thread. One way flight to Munich, money belt full of cash, not knowing whether I was about to meet up with Josef Fritzl and an epic drive back home. I got rear ended in commuter traffic one day, and it was never the same afterwards due to difficulty in getting hold of parts. Amazingly for one of my old cars, it is still on the road. I saw it on ebay a few months ago (G11 AWD)
  18. Poor pictures, but unusually recent sighting of a 3 spoke alloy on a Hyundai Amica on my local dog walk route.
  19. Sorry it's a bit late, but I have finally managed to get my Ibiza roadworthy and would like to see if there is any space free for Friday night. Taken it to work (30 mile journey) for the first time today and hit 16,666 miles. I'll be camping if possible, arriving fairly late after work from South Wales, at around SEAT o'clock. Mark
  20. Can somebody move the post above please? Should have been on the shitefest thread!
  21. Well, not being one to take no for an answer, I offered the bloke cash money and he gave me an hour to get there as he was leaving for 2 weeks holiday. To cut a long story short,. I am now the proud owner of my very first very french slightly cassé bagnole. I'm not normally one to name cars, but this is called le Merde d'Or. New thread incoming shortly.
  22. This is only a few miles away from me, I have a spare parking space, a day off, £400 burning a hole in my pocket and I am insane, but unfortunately he has just scrapped it as there was no interest except me. Sorry.
