  1. A rather rare 1.7 Sportline for our new SEAT mad @SEATMad friend. Photos aren't the best, and the only mention of Sport line is on the steering wheel, but the wheels are correct spec. I believe the seats should be leather, but no decent photos of them. In Spainshire unfortunately, but I believe it is worth the trip. Anyone got up to date information on importing from Spain? I haven't ever bought from Spain, or anywhere since Brexit. https://www.ooyyo.com/spain/c=CDA31D7114DD854F111BE56FBACD355C07A50A7037D3/6831564190692034554.html/
  2. If you haven't already seen it, this superb period video on how to build one appeared on YouTube last week.
  3. Great idea doing this. I can't add much more, except possibly talking to Mark Serné and his son on the FB page, as he has a few cars and tonnes of spares. He hasn't shared his reg numbers on photos. Also George Vine (second car on your list) recently scrapped a rotten 1.5GL and I bought a few bits from him. I got hold of the second owner of my car, the one that rescued it and he told me of a long parked up Ibiza somewhere on a drive in Bristol, although looking at the reg number of George's scrap car, it could be the same one.
  4. Just looked back at my photos of the day, and as usual I managed to not take a photo of my own car. I did however visit nearby Bibury and was startled at their open admission of the poor water quality in the river Coln.
  5. Per car I believe, and it was me last time @SEATMad. I went with MsCoachie and even she liked it, although I just left her at the excellent cafe with a coffee and breakfast roll, leaving me free to walk around and not talk to anyone else. I would have been at the excellent Rustival in it, but one of my front calipers had seized over the winter and I only noticed it after a couple of miles down the M4, when I had to brake suddenly and ended up halfway on the hard shoulder. Turned back and got there in my appliance, although not before burning three finger tips on the offending brake disk (yes, I am really that stupid). I will try to get it fixed in time so we can have a Special off in the car park and out misery each other with the lack of features. There is also a very good (so I have been told) free show in the centre of Coleford on Easter Monday, so may try to attend that too.
  6. I knew who was going to be appearing on this before even clicking the link! Nice to finally meet you, Dan.
  7. The car should be presentable, but it does not need to be perfect by any means. Back in 2022, there was a totally mint red Ford Ka that the boys even spent hours on the day polishing, detailing , tyre shine etc and put mirrors on the grass so you could see the underside. I believe it may have been trailered there too. (Could have been another car, my memory is not great) I think you stand more chance of winning with a good, heartwarming back story to the car, so get writing if you have only recently bought a deceased spec octagenarian shopping trolley like I did. Despite that, I still managed to smuggle a Porsche badged (engineered) car onto the FoTU lawn!
  8. I don't want to get your hopes up too much, but our family Admiral multicar policy went down this renewal ( Dec 2023) I know everyone is different, but we have two quite lumpy claims in there over the last 4 years as well.
  9. Yes if it was the Costa/ Greggs one that probably was me on the way to a car show. It's a very convenient meeting place except for no public loos! Somebody posted their VIN plate up yesterday, which turns out to be this red sport line, closely related to the blue sport line snapped and presumably now gone from a few years ago. IMO, Specials are where it's at! Share some interior shots please.
  10. Welcome @SEATMadfrom a fellow 021A owner. Quite a few old SEAT lickers on here. I've only owned mine for a few years. Agree with you about the Málaga, but I think that swappage and the British weather killed all the RHD ones. A rather rare 1.7 Sport line has just surfaced again on Facebook, and another System Porsche engined car has just been offered for sale there too. Love your wheels by the way. Mark
  11. Wirral's chunkiest munters. That's a channel 5 series I would happily watch every week instead of I've irresponsibly bred two football teams worth of sprogs.
  12. Jean-Claude Van Damme? Moule Frites? Mayo on everything (hopefully not your oil filler cap though)
  13. Also Fiesta Fame and Fun* Probably local dealer specials. I part exed a deceased spec Fun (and believe me it was not) for my Ibiza.
  14. FRF Volvo parts department in Swansea were always good for mail order. Can't remember the name of the bloke. https://www.facebook.com/FRFVolvoParts/?locale=en_GB I used these a few times, but before Br***t. https://www.skandix.de/en/ Top buying by the way. I bought my FiL's white/blue velour 740 GL estate C992FTA from him back in about 1997/8. I only replaced it as I was on a mad buying spree at the time. I remember electrical gremlins, so took it into the college in Twickenham where I was working at the time, the physics technician reflowed all the relays and voila, all sorted. I think the bloke I sold it to was either a builder and ran it into the ground, or a bank robber and ram raided it into a cashpoint, as it didn't last long afterwards.
  15. SEAT Salsa Alpine A110
  16. The opieoils.co.uk desktop site still give some good technical details for recent cars. Here is my still yet (ever?) to be reregisted B'lingo WF02NNJ
  17. https://www.gumtree.com/p/ssangyong/ssangyong-rodius-mpv-2010-semi-auto-2696-cc-5-doors/1471099780 Cheap Big, 7 seater 2010 Ssangyong Rodius with 2 weeks MOT for £1800. WCPGW? I can't find out for certain as reg is hidden, but are these £675 pa RFL? WVO friendly?
  18. https://www.exchangeandmart.co.uk/ad/28348446 Cheap Rover in a colour. Needs MOT, seller lost storage so bargain possibility. May be crusty underneath. Has carbaba.co.uk changed recently, as I don't seem to be able to get the V5 history from it now?
  19. In Nottingham over the weekend. Owner must wear driving gloves, or the rumour about his special powers is a load of bull as it hasn't worked on the car.
  20. Is there a thread for these? Spotted many years ago in Cardiff.
