2316cc got a reaction from HarmonicCheeseburger in eBay tat volume 3.
Yeah, it’s 10k and it’s obviously fucked, but wouldn’t it be worth it to see the staff at the tip quivering with rage when you pulled up and started unloading? “What mate? It’s not a van…”
Ok, it obviously wouldn’t be worth it, but it’s a nice idea.

2316cc got a reaction from HMC in HMC- Live- Bench seated collection
These early Boxsters are starting to look really good now, especially in silver with the orange indicators that everyone hated. Very well boughted!

They look massive, but the car's on top are only Minis, and the steering wheels are so big... I need to go and recalibrate my whole sense of proportion now.

I've never worked on another 924, so I don't know if mine's fighting more than they usually do. There are still some, er, legacy electrical issues, though. I'm buggered if I can get the NS headlight to work consistently at the moment and the pop up lights don't go up or down. I suspect that may just need a new relay, but I've been so busy with other stuff I haven't had time to look into it. In fact that's the main problem with this car, it's just been neglected for the last few years because I've got too much other stuff on, fixing (trying to fix) other cars, house, kids, etc.
I think having one that isn't a bastard to you all the time is your reward for all the work you put into the white one. It certainly seems well deserved. One of these days I'm going to attempt a front valance repair like you did - if there's any front valance left by the time I get round to it.

And it only took about six years! That's about standard for me to actually do something.
The 924's not going anywhere, but it needs some love. How's your shiny red one?

Alas, no. Only stylish trying-to-be-a-turbo-but-not-really-a-turbo spiderwebs that are almost impossible to get bolts for. I discovered this because in the days before I owned a torque wrench I lost one.
This is what it looks like when it's not hiding behind a garage. From this distance you can see that the other cars are the same, but not that they're all in much better condition.

Evening all.
Another serial lurker here. I created this account at the end of last year with all sorts of ideas about doing a collection thread on a vehicle I had just purchased unseen from eBay that was 200 miles from my house. Sadly, by the time my registration came through the collection was complete and I was too busy shitting myself about having bought a lemon to do any posting. It turned out the vehicle in question was not a fruit, citrus or otherwise, and many miles of happy motoring have occurred since I got over the usual 'what the fuck have I done now?' post-purchase anxiety. I really ought to be used to that by now...
Anyway, I don't think I have enough vehicles to qualify for full fleet status, but if my somewhat shaky knowledge of naval terminology is correct I may just be able to scrape a squadron. This is a slightly teasing picture of the current state of the squadron.
Front and centre we have a 1994 Range Rover Classic, having just enjoyed its first wash in two years. To the left a 1984 Porsche 924, currently slightly unloved and increasingly grumpy about it. To the right my latest purchase, a 1993 VW LT35, which I have convinced myself and my wife I'll be able to get running properly and converted into a camper van by next summer. Finally, and barely visible behind the RR, a 1995 Volvo 940 estate, which was what I purchased when I registered and is of course the reason for my user name. I look forward to telling you all about these and the other bad decisions I've made in my short but I think reasonably glorious motoring career.

After clicking on the link to the dodgy landy above I'm getting all sorts of mad shit. This seems like it might have been used to deliver milk on an aircraft carrier.

If, like me, you've ever thought, 'I like motorbikes, but I wish they were more like a van', this could be right up your street...
I also admit to being intrigued about how the steering works. Not quite intrigued enough to spend £9k, though.
