  1. We used to have one in Leighton Buzzard called "The Frying Dutchman".
  2. This is ridiculously cheap for a Facelift. I wonder if said belts have caused damage to the engine. I mean, you could replace them and the car would instantly be worth £2k more. They're very popular in the JDM scene. We're considering these for my Missus Panda replacement (more, because she won't drive a bigger car and these are ridiculously sized inside and she wants a CVT slushbox for very little money)
  3. I sold a car very easily last month with help from this site (and I hate selling cars). I was waiting for this post to reappear. So a couple of Ponies sent over. Thank you.
  4. Can I just say, I know this is a bit off-topic as it's Tat Friday, but that's stunning. I wish I didn't have clown hands (although I'm aware that people wish they could play musical instruments and I found those really easy).
  5. I've always wondered on these. 270+ out of a 1.6 turbo engine has to be serious wear on an engine and turbo does it not? Are there examples of big mileage ones?
  6. I know this has gone a bit OT, but have you seen the way that Asda delivery drivers (in particular) throw their vans about? I'm surprised they lasted 4 years.
  7. I'll give you a number of reasons. These are money pits (I'm sure Ian will tell you) This is the wrong one. Why get an RCZ with 156bhp when you can have an RCZ-R with the same engine that has 270bhp. I really want one of the latter ones though. Soooooo much fun to drive. You can keep your Audi S3s. These are much more fun. And can be tooned to around 315bhp without any hassle.
  8. I'm a firefox user, so no change for me other than the blue thing. I quite like it - stands out better.
  9. IGnore: Just spotted he wants £8k. It's horrid inside. Looks like Stevie Wonder did the interior design. Frankly, it's not worth £5k. Would take at least £5k to make it look like a decent motorhome again. There are much better motorhomes out there for £10k.
  10. Perhaps owned by a "Lady of a certain age"? (And I did run that comment past my wife 🤣)
  11. Thing is, when you've got the best supply of bits in the country, I guess you can take this attitude. In fairness, I've always found secondhand car parts people fairly grumpy.
  12. I can only speak for my local office, but they've had them since 2018. Last time I was there, there was definitely more than 6. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/16604786.new-electric-vans-pushes-royal-mail-into-future/
  13. Sadly, I was driving and couldn't take a picture, but I was particularly impressed with a proper piece of chod this morning in Gosport that was a Polo L. Absolutely rotten looking, but strangely alluring. It was being followed by a 1996 Ford Escort. I'm not sure if that says something about Gosport 🤣
  14. That's just bizarre. So ordered in 2005, registered in 2010 with a 2005 plate? Just bizarre.
  15. Things I'm currently after (in case anyone finds one). Preferably nice condition. I'm like Stevie Wonder when it comes to painting. Toyota MR2 mk1 - preferably 1:43, but after any Toyota MR2 mk2 - preferably 1:43, but again after any Volvo P1800S Nissan Skyline R33 and R34 GTR Skyline "Hakosuka" GT-R
  16. Is your mechanic (or the one who did the previous work) a volvo specialist? I think his name is Steve? I only know this because my folks live in Reepham and managed to get a V40 through its entire life (1999 - 2019 RIP 160k SRS fault I believe). They ended up giving him the car free when it became EOL as thanks. Anyhow, I probably don't need to tell you this because you'll have passed it a hundred times in your life, but apparently the breaker near the A1 Black Cat roundabout is as good a Volvo breaker as there is in the country.
  17. You'll be unsurprised to know that you can do tax hacks with EV vans. https://www.gov.uk/capital-allowances/first-year-allowances And despite them costing shirt buttons to run, you can claim the 45p a mile too! I mean, clearly, you're not going to be running long distance deliveries, but I'd be surprised if urban delivery vans do 258 miles a day. Ironically, EVs absolutely love shite travel, particularly heavy traffic. Hence why Royal Mail have moved to them.
  18. I keep refreshing this page hoping that the OP will mysteriously find some WiFi (McDonalds is always a good shout). It's like the world's slowest car crash 🤣 And then he's going to pull an absolute stunner out of a hat. Like a really rare Maxi 1500 or something (We had one of those in the 1970s, and they were as rare as rocking horse shit - never seen another in my life)
  19. Interesting to note that the really worthwhile stuff has been separated (the rotten R5 aside) Although the R33 GTST isn't the one everyone wants and he would have been better off finishing the Mexico rather than what I'm expecting to be a beige 1.3L.
  20. If anyone is interested, can be found here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175860167345 As it stands, it's definitely a bargain. The 2 escorts alone are easily worth more than that, especially if the Mexico is the real deal. From the rear, it looks in excellent condition and partly restored. The midget looks great too. I'd be very wary though if these don't have registrations or V5s. They could be nicked or cut n' shuts.
  21. Probably a test one. I had a Vauxhall Mokka on a 12 plate, despite them not being released in the UK until early 2013 on a late 62. It was a permanent demo from Vauxhall given to our fleet team. As an aside, it was a Diesel Slushbox and was bloody awful. Vauxhall eventually replaced it with a slightly more sprightly orange Manual 4x4.
  22. I've always wondered this. If someone has a car repossessed and someone applies for the V5 using a V62k, if I remember, it sends a letter to the previous holder of the V5 asking them if there is any reason why a new V5 shouldn't be divvied out. What if they say "No, I don't agree"?
  23. I'm fully excited to see the journey of this liability fine piece of motoring history.
  24. Where's Eleanor? I'm sure this had one at some point.
  25. I'm not that new to this forum (and certainly this thread). What's with the Mr G L Lawrence thing? I've just spotted it on that moped.
