  1. I swear it's a lottery. I live literally next door to the largest refinery in the country and fuel is super expensive here. I go to some remote place in Wales and it's 10p a litre cheaper.
  2. Why thank you! I can't wait for my ..... prize 🤣 Well, you'll see from my avatar that I'm sceptical of anyone who says "Barn find". They're normally some old shite that's been sitting in a yard, with the hope that someday they'll get round to fixing it (I know many of you have similar "projects" in your yards) So let me introduce you to the this 1983 Starion. It clearly has lots of interest, because it's still got 6 days left and has 13 bids https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266298257152
  3. Forgive me congregation, for I have sinned. I went to the Flywheel event at Bicester today and not only forgot cash, but also my wallet, so I couldn’t get any! The auto jumble was a very mixed bag. Some professional sellers, selling IMHO overpriced nonsense. Some of the Oxford stuff that could can buy from their website for £25, was going for £35+. Even the loose box with heavily used stuff was £2.50! however, on some of the not so dedicated stalls, there were some fine finds. Some older matchbox and hot wheels stuff for £1,50. One stall had an almost entire box of 80s matchbox stuff, still in their packaging for £10, which whilst is a bit more than some pay, they were NOS with Woolies price tags on! Another had a huge box with some good specimens for 50p and boxed 1:43s for a couple of quid. Sadly, since moving, it’s now a long way and they only do it once a year. I will try harder in the future.
  4. I wish to share a Twitter account, I don’t know the fella personally, but he’s clearly got the most eclectic car brochures known to man an example of his fine work….. Car brochure addict
  5. If you do choose to let that go, that was on my list 😂 but thank you for the Aston. That looks like the ideal start to my shelf.
  6. When I bought the C220 estate, I seriously considered one of these. I hate driving in the snow and my job was going to mean I couldn’t use that as an excuse. A 4wd and winter tyres would be the order of the day. Sadly, when I looked at the running costs, the tax being twice what my insurance was, I had to concede.
  7. I very much approve of this German barge. It's one of those cars you could properly smarten up, put a wanker plate on it and feel like a proper toff. Doesn't look its age at all.
  8. Woohoo! Thank you. Does the stall owner think you're a complete nutter? 🤣
  9. I'm happy to send you some money now, but yes please, hold onto it. I'll no doubt find some other tat treasures for you to send me in the next couple of weeks 🤣
  10. It now has a correctly coloured friend
  11. So how do you normally work with folk? We give you money, you go buying stuff and when you've got a veritable hoard, we cover the postage? I know I had something off you before - I think it was one of my MR2s.
  12. Blimey, I struggle spraying a car panel. I am to crafting what Herod was to childcare.
  13. That Aston Martin is truly beautiful and does seem a bargain at a fiver. Whilst I'm after an SL, like you, that red paint doesn't do it any favours.
  14. Ah, now we're talking I can see this becoming an obsession 🤣 My Dad had this exact car. None of the double lights nonsense.
  15. You're going to get me in trouble I'm going to need to make a proper list and keep it on my phone. Then join you lot as a middle aged fella sneaking around toy shops.
  16. She didn't say no when I laughed about it... Sadly, don't have the room for the storage units above. When we moved to our current abode last year, I persuaded her to move to 4 bookcases from our then 8. I don't think me starting a miniature car collection will end well
  17. Yeah, so this is a problem. Some stuff I have is 1:64. However, my MR2s are 1:43. The Jensens are also 1:43, so I suppose that. but I've a feeling it will limit me with some of the more difficult items.
  18. That looks like a very useful shed on wheels. Looks quite thick too, so could be useful in the winter?
  19. So I've persuaded Mrs TOS that we should have a shelf in our study (we both work from home) dedicated to.... "Cars I've owned, wish to own, or wish I could afford (within reason)" I already have a couple of MR2s, a GR Supra, the current Milk Float incarnated and one or two others. So following on from my watch on eBay of minty Jensen Interceptors, I will also be looking for mint: Lancia Delta Integrale (preferably with Rally livery) Mitsubishi Evo 8 Mk1 MR2 60s Mustang Fastback Volvo P1800 coupe Mk1 Golf GTi VW Karmann Ghia 1960s Mercedes SL 1960s "Hakosuka" Skyline GT-R (I'm aware this might be pushing it - I've never come across one). That'll do for now... I know i have great taste in cars of course.
  20. These are generally owned by garages or Toyota, but this one appears to be on a 2004 model. The Kia garage that used to be near me had an assortment of K1A plates, as well as 6EED, N1RO and various others that suited the current models. Some of them were really good and almost matched the exact model. It's still showing on that car though....... And its MOT history makes for interesting reading, and it's done 163k which is impressive for a shopping cart
  21. Commercial airbox on my car resembles a rat box. Maybe this is a new use for them!
  22. I'll be honest, it was better looking and more practical IMHO than the 145. Quite rare too.
  23. I will join in for a whole £621 EDIT to say....no shit, that really is a shed.
  24. Ah ok. 3GRs? The 2GR was the one to have - GS350/IX350. Don't know much about the 3s. I see also from your thread you've enjoyed the quirks of an Alfa. Not have a 146 like the one mentioned above?
