Never seen a 75 with this colour interior before, I quite like it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166711131187

So operation tidy the Rolie Polie has started, first with these new plates, not a huge thing but I was growing increasingly annoyed with how faded the old ones were, not slagging off HMC at all as they still looked infinitely better than the black and silver ones but I still couldn’t stand the faded look I got them from here if anyone’s interested, https://www.classicplatesonline.co.uk/plates.asp?gad_source=1 they do great repro plates, they even do repros of the original raised digit plates but at 120 odd pounds I couldn’t justify it at the moment so these pressed plates will have to do, next port of call is to give it a really good detail and polish as looking at the paint whilst it’s not the best finish it should come up really good, that’s tomorrows job

No worries, just something I’ll have to live with, i had just gotten the car and was clueless about it so there’s so many inaccuracies, also it was pre transition so I cringe when I see myself

The temptation is so so real but if we bought another bus we might have to register as a transport company https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116117666058

Absolutely love that one of the Rolls and Chrysler, is it okay if I use that as my cover photo please? -

Yeah sometimes the passenger headlight comes and goes, just give the wires behind a little wiggle or the lens a good whack and it’ll come back, also worth adding to turn the dash lights on turn the headlights on then pull the switch that says P, for the main beam there’s a floor mounted switch left of the clutch I’m glad it made it home drama free though

Never say never, whist I have no plans to sell it any time soon I know what I’m like with motor vehicles, I’m 23 and this is my 42nd, but I have always lusted over a Shad since I was a young girl, I used to collect these Bond cars and mags when I was about 8 and the Shadow was always my favourite, I promised myself I’d own a real one one day obviously believing it’d never happen so to actually own one now even a tatty one is still a huge novelty and puts such a huge grin on my face and all the while it does that I’m keeping it

The first thing that struck me and I’m sure it would anyone is now far away the front of the car is when you’re behind the wheel, I feel like I need a pair of long distance glasses to see the Silver lady 😆 in terms of driving, don’t get me wrong I love it but the engine doesn’t feel as torquey as I was expecting, the Pontiac had buckets more torque and pulled away from the line with a lot more eagerness, obviously I’m not expecting it to pull like a sports car but for a 6.75 ltr v8 to be slower off the line than a 1980s American MPV is a little disappointing, again it doesn’t really bother me as I’m never going to gun it at a set of lights or what have you anyway but it’d still be nice to have that extra power in reserve if that makes sense? The only way to describe how vague the steering is is to compare it to the poll position arcade machine or similar extremely light 80s driving games, it almost doesn’t feel connected to the wheels and the light steering can easily catch you out in corners if you aren’t prepared, comfort is honestly unmatched, it just wafts down the road like nothing else of the period, the only big saloon I had of a similar period was my Peugeot 404 and that almost feels like driving a piece of wood compared to this, truly amazing. Brakes leave a lot to be desired, they aren’t great but I put that down to them needing work over them just being bad

Some quick pics of the Shad as promised, Mr WC already wants to take it out in Convoy with the Guy Arab when that’s back on the road so expect some Rolls and Bus action soon, I also took it to work this morning and managed to attract a crowd almost instantly mainly from my colleagues who were probably wondering if the CEO of First Bus had just showed up for a random Audit 😆 I’d like to give it a really good wash and detail very soon as it got absolutely filthy from the drive home yesterday

Just insured the Shad with Stirling for £200 third party torch and take, that’s for a 23 year old living in the centre of Portsmouth, on street parking, the lady on the phone was actually blown away at how cheap it was, I think they use ageas as an underwriter

I’m off that day and it’s not a million miles away so I’ll try my best to be there -
I drove it at the FoD last year and really liked it, I’d definitely buy this one but I really don’t need 4 saloons 😆
