  1. Have you looked at prices on Black Circles? Mine came with budget Chinese tyres, luckily fitted in matching pairs on each axle and I was quite surprised at grip levels even in the wet although they would not have been my choice. When they started to get low l fitted the 245/45-18's with a plan on having the 16" wheels refurbished and fitting winter tyres but that went out the window after the accident. I quite liked the Uniroyal Rainsports fitted to our Vectra for the short time before we scrapped it, @Talbot had those off me for his S210.
  2. I see a debate has started about tyres on Faecesbook! 🤣 Didn’t take long for the MO to be mentioned.
  3. Thank you, I really appreciate that. I spent today moving cars about to get V2.0 in the back garden, doesn’t sound much but involved a little gardening and a lot of battery charging. The V40 started easily but Gods teeth does it knock. Moved that forward onto the grass and I could feel it sinking and wondered if I might need the wee Tirfor to pull it out later. Came out ok though. I went for a drive last night to get 20ltr of V-Power for the Jensen, that should have been a mile tops but a set of long shaft Torx drivers had been delivered to work so I bought fuel near there and beer in Egham. 🍻 Also trotted round the roads near work to see where last weeks roadworks have moved to. The Jensen needs a new battery but started and ran with a splash of fresh fuel and an assist of my cheapie homemade 1100A jump pack. (Needs adult clamps not the Early Learning Centre melty ones I used.) I was tempted to run it up the road as the 185 tyres chirp nicely when 2nd snatches. Decided to just move it in behind old knocky the V40. After a bit of sweeping and both barrels of my gas weed burner, 3E20 CD V2.0 moved into the back garden then right back out as I had a hankering to throw some stuff out of the temporary garage. Good grief there's some forgotten shite in there! Most of it is still sat out but V2.0 is in back, Jensen in garage and normal parking service resumed on the drive. I have an early start to drop the new Torx drivers off for return and collect a friend to collect her car from the Mot station. Torx drivers were bananas in disguise. Bit of a pisser as they would have made this week a little easier.
  4. Moved V2.0 and fitting the faulty r/h tail lamp has given the added malfunction of a l/h mirror indicator fault. It’s flashing though......
  5. Swapped the r/h rear lights between cars as that one is playing up again and giving the six fault codes. Removed the electric door lock assembly from my spare door to fit on V2.0 as the lock bounces. Not a straightforward swap job as 3 rivets need drilling out and the window runner needs moving out of the way. Replacement can wait for a warm day.
  6. £41 delivered for the OE would be my choice. I have bought a few parts from them but my thermostat came from Autodoc with other stuff. Strangely, I have not been in a dealership for any parts.
  7. Old and new carbon filters, above the passenger footwell. Don't miss the glovebox damper cord, I did!
  8. Both of mine have two carbon filters inside the cabin, that may be due to the 4 zone a/c. Looks a good purchase.
  9. On the to do list, I think the sensor has popped out and is sitting close to the radiator pack as the temperature rises as the car warms up.
  10. After much feckin about with the laptop today I ended up with a clear instrument cluster on V2.0 and only two fault codes showing. One for mirror and an insignificant Comms error. I managed to run a full set of SBC tests, the controller was too hot yesterday to run the checks for air in the system, this morning it was too cold! I wasn't expecting a complete fix via software and sure enough, after a shutdown and restart there was a bang and loss of pressure in the SBC followed by a red dash warning. I now have 4 codes specific to the braking system to look into and a definite fault instead being intermittent. At least the trip back was quiet when the fault appeared as the instrument cluster was dead with no beeping!
  11. I have a week off and my sights are set on deletion of at least one Volvo from the collection to make space. I wonder if I can strip the car for parts within 8 hours?
  12. My drivers door mirror has always been lazy on the auto fold so I checked the door shut wiring expecting the usual broken fine wires. Six wires in there, two power, two speaker and two Canbus an only a slight hardening of one section of insulation. Following the wires to the mirror I then suspected the mirror wires as the door wiring plugs into the housing from the controller. A replacement mirror has now started being lazy! 🤣
  13. A couple of photos from my second car mirror...... Locked position of the clip . Mirror pops onto the motor face, clip holds it at the top. Hope that helps. I'm confident you will see one apart and understand how to reassemble it!
  14. Seems I have bought the ultra rare 3E20 CD model by mistake.
  15. Hopefully you have sussed the Bi-Zenons by now, sensor on front side if right upper wishbone. Do they do the up/down dance?I could not get my iCarsoft CR Max to do anything more for the setting being out of range other than give a reading and had to use Star to find out what the parameters were. Oil level check on both mine can be done in two ways, one in a hidden menu that gives you litres and the other dummies guide that says level ok. Hidden menu is accessed by setting the dash to temperature display, switch ignition to first click then press the trip reset 3 times and the display changes to battery voltage. You can then scroll through using the steering wheel buttons, I think you have to switch the ignition on to test the oil level. As you have read through my thread the SBC seems to be hidden in the E Brake menus on some code readers like mine and the one I borrowed off @bobdisk. I have not properly bled the system with my iCarsoft and have brought all my pressure bleeder kit home from work as I want to give it a go this week in preparation for fixing the other cars SBC fault. Do you have a "Rest" button on the air conditioning? Great this time of year when stopping off for supplies, ignition off and press Rest and it uses residual heat to keep the car warm around 20 minutes. If your car was ordered with auto dimming interior/drivers door mirror and the outer has been replaced, the heater may just need wiring up as the mega expensive dimming glass has a 4 pin plug and just need adapting to connect up. Is yours an Avantgarde or Elegance?
  16. Thank you. Just finished reading your collection thread and about to comment, looks a tidy car. I was tempted but really wanted another OM648 engined car and biding my time has paid off apart from the beige interior. I keep forgetting this thread is in the wrong section, started out as a question then rolled into a "life with" thread so should probably be moved.
  17. S211 Ver2.0 had a little attention today, @bobdisk had a delve into the dead instrument cluster viscera. I still don't believe a heat gun with a fine nozzle played over the main PCB chips produced this...... In the disassembly I, lost a square grommet that sits in the alloy dashboard frame to support the cluster, despite dropping the lower dash cover it was nowhere to be seen. Bob waited until I clipped the last part, the surround back in finalising installation before telling me the grommet was sat on the dash where I fished it out the week before. 😁 Down to 3 codes, one can be ignored, the mirror can be sorted and the SBC is next on the hit list. This decided to happen on the Navigation, no codes or explanation. Then as if by magic the shopkeeper Navigation appeared...... Love those crosshairs, "Steady, steady, bombs gone" was first thing that came to mind. That Navigation system seems like hard work to use. I'm in no rush to use the car but the next bit will be to fit the spare drivers door lock to replace the currently bouncing one.
  18. Jensen Interceptor lll in silver with black interior and a Tom Jones tape in the 8 Track for sale at a used car dealer. Two big rust stains on the floor under the sills where it had stood so long. Mid 80's and l had been paid out for a bike accident and looking for my first car, bought a write off Cavalier instead. Jensen Interceptor SP without the 6 pack. One of the cars l looked at 15 years later instead of a Dodge Challenger. Bought an Interceptor Mklll instead. The Jensen CV8 Kevin Beatie drove to Turin and Vignale re-bodied into the first Interceptor when it was available for £20k. There's couple of Manta and Ascona B's I turned down too.
  19. The front ones go brittle and shatter. If you get stuck for the rear ones I have a few lamps in bits
  20. These are what I ordered....... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224784915142?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=KWCY6bDRStG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=UYzPZ-RKQfO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  21. Is it the adjusting clips that have shattered? They are available on Ebay, 3D printed in a better material.
