  1. I instantly had the song running through my head, took me a few seconds to spot the number plate! 😆
  2. I never at any point said they were awkward. Having never driven a Berlingo, I can't say what differences if any there are between one and the Peugeot Partner I drove. What I can say is that the gearchange was like stirring a bagful of spanners in treacle, the clutch, brake, and accelerator pedals felt like they were connected using sponge cake, and the steering seemed to be via a steering box made from lego. The most annoying thing however (apart from the 62mph speed limiter and g-sensor/tracker/fucking back seat driver fitted by An Northern Council) was the complete lack of any adjustment for the driver's seat, which I find utterly unconscionable, and extremely uncomfortable. Our VW Transporters are a much better drive, a Fiesta Mk3 diesel van was pretty good, though had a weirdly low ride height, resulting in several encounters with Fleet Enforcement querying the load level, the Corsa E van that replaced the Fiesta is a nice little thing, though it takes forever to warm the engine up, and many people liked the Transit Connects we used to have, including me. I've also driven both petrol and diesel Transit Mk3 and 4s, Merc Sprinters, ERF C and E series trucks, LDV vans, Astra vans, even an Iveco Luton body when I helped the SIL move house, pretty sure the Partner is the worst of the lot.
  3. Could be worse... we had one in our department at An Northern Council, in which the department manager's son had spilt diesel while he was stealing it (the diesel, not the van). Three or four years later it still smells a bit, though nowhere near as bad as it used to, but fortunately it's moved sideways to a different department as well. Fortunate for two reasons; the smell, and the fact that this is one of the worst vehicles I have ever had the misfortune to drive, in terms of the controls and driveability. Even a Mk1 Corsa Combo is better. Probably even Iv*co's are better.
  4. That's pretty normal for concept cars I think. I remember lusting after the Peugeot Proxima when I saw it in Autocar, but realistically it was probably powered by two sweaty blokes pushing it onto its display stand. Even if it is/was capable of moving under its own power, I seriously doubt its ability to achieve the claimed performance figures, or to drive round a track at the speed its specs and form imply.
  5. The last car I had that lasted 9 years cost me £250, but I take your point.
  6. Looking at the shut line of the driver's door compared to the passenger's, not quite enough...
  7. Not if it rusts like this 9-year old Indian Dacia Duster https://autoshite.com/topic/34511-ebay-tat-volume-3/?do=findComment&comment=2526071
  8. The Military of Various Nations have used this kind of system for quite a long time, probably longer than most people would imagine (imagine pre-solid-state electronics era). The main issues with it are drift error, due to serious mechanical complexity and calibration precision, even on modern systems. Here's a more technically detailed link for anyone that may be interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inertial_navigation_system
  9. I know tradition has it that Volvos are built like tanks, but this is ridiculous... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/306181485035264/?ref=product_details&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
  10. That would have required the installation of said detectors... I'd guess some kind of inertial gyroscopic system, hopefully with a method to zero it!
  11. Is that a Hyundai Santa Fe trying to make friends with a Discovery 2?
  12. We really need to petition the admin staff to include a facepalm or facedesk emoji for stuff like this. NB: I'm not against restomods in principle, but at least use the same manufacturer for the engine/drivetrain, ie Vauxhall/GM. As it is, this is just an S4 with a Victor FB bodykit on it. Bleh
  13. Wow, a Zagato concept that looks decent, instead of looking like it was designed on an Etch-A-Sketch...
  14. 1.6 automatic? I bet it sprints off the line like an arthritic tortoise. That's been flipped onto its back.
  15. @dollywobbler can probably tell you what it is from the windscreen wiper...
  16. Difficult to figure the thinking of some people... personally I would just have thrown the entire filter housing away and made a velocity stack out of an old coke can
  17. Interesting colour, "Pet free Blue". £615 a year tax though... 😵
  18. Looks like you'd have a fight on your hands (or ankles) if you tried to take that away when you buy it
  19. That's quite a collection of (historic rally?) stickers on that NSU!
  20. Didn't RWD Jags of the 70s and 80s have inboard discs at the back?
  21. Mk1 or 2 Granada is my guess, not much to go on though! Not too many cars with chrome bumper, RWD, IRS, coil springs, and drums on the back. If I could figure out what part of the car picture two is, it would help...
  22. From the side, yes, from the front I would say it's closer to a Wiegert Vector W8
