  1. Any fancy pants reason for having two? If not then could you use a generic piece instea
  2. My local garage-guy-who-helps-when-busy turned up in one of these a few years back. First one I had ever seen. Now I have seen two. He’s still got his one, I’m not taking any bets on this one 😉
  3. And now they're back? Plus ca change... I was wondering if getting the intercooler into the MGF was maybe thought too much hassle? I'd guess you could lose that little bit of boot space at the back if you really had to but that'd leave you with sod all space for 'stuff'? (Would it be feasible to site it all the down the front with the radiator? )
  4. FB Marketplace offered me a £8750 Moggy, 'funny looking thing behind the rad grille ' I thought Ahhhh - that's why
  5. £1250 BX - I was interested until I saw it is LHD (advert says RHD but also says LHD ??) Still a half decent looking thing but, for giggles, read the ad wording. [edit] it's also out of MOT - looks like it had only one done to get UK plates in March last year
  6. Read an eBay description? Moi? I do like a good dig around the web. It's an intriguing little car (and not one I've ever seen before). It also seems fairly well priced compared to similar aged stuff like Porsche 924/944 - if I was in the market for something different it'd be worth a trip to look at. I'm sure spare parts are* ten a penny.
  7. Ahhh - I'd assumed JDM just because it was RHD and had the square front plate... interesting. (MOT history is top notch) [edit] Yup - GoogleFoo says you are spot on. Factory cars were all LHD but there seems to have been a number of places (all over the world) that would make them RHD - Australia features a lot - not a lot I can find about UK cars. I guess they'll be something in the paperwork/import stuff?
  8. Maybe we should ask the AutoShite Server Admins to install an options that appears if you go for the 'like' button:
  9. Which broker/site are you using - I'm finding online stuff a bit hit and miss? I have full NCB on one car and one <7.5 tonner but neither are cutting much ice at the moment on a third one (a lot of the sites don't even have anywhere to tell them the NCB details on the other vehicles)
  10. Trick is not to 'tell' the AI that it is spouting bollocks - that way they'll never 'learn' and we still get to laugh at the spouted stuff? Here's a granny car £550 with half a ticket, weird colour - Kidwelly
  11. Have we had this yet - RHD (JDM?) £5795
  12. +1 for all this Bini gets tailgated like fuck all the time - it screams "mummy's taxi" as it's a vanilla looking thing. Drop a gear and floor it when you hit the GLF signs causes consternation behind (the remap helps around 150 BHP/tonne that's enough for daily transport for me). I used to get really grumpy about getting tailgated but, these days, dilligaf and ease off the speed a bit - I've reached gifferdom with a clean licence and I will wear my trilby at any speed I like.
  13. Her most recent 'thing' was earlier this month when she was dealt with in her absence at Northampton MC for what reads like no licence therefore also no insurance. Suggestion is that DVLA have pulled her licence on some medical grounds but our beloved* media are scant on the facts. So it reads like she's no longer disqualified from driving - just never got her licence back after the ban ended. She may well have wised up and contacted the Northampton court saying 'sorry, I'll come along now and we can all have a chat about it' - so that recent penalty is rolled back - but it does look like she still has no entitlement to drive. (Backtracking her driving record does suggest that she is very arrogant and/or very daft)
  14. That's mint - got a 1990 tax disc and MVA so it's cost somebody something to get off the lorry - it's interesting how the door card vinyl is warping off with just time rather than use? I did read that @HMC has a spare HydroElastic pump - borrow that and a battery booster and it's pas de probleme, shirley? Alternatively - there's some old AutoShite in there as well as the Metro. I get (working from bottom left) VW Polo? Early 2 door RR - white Ditto - also white Rover 4 series (right out the front)?? Loads of stuff I do not recognise Saab 99 (white) Sierra (Burgandy)
  15. Nope Buses get my vote - Ayrton Senna wannabe at the wheel, every.single.other.f*cker on board is engrossed in their phone. I'm watching (trainee) Senna flinging this thing around the countryside whilst grappling for my seatbelt. Nobody else is using theirs? My first time on a cross country bus (quite recently) in maybe 15 years was 100 years too soon. Depends on the horse and your trust (most horsey people pretend it's some degree of competence but, at the end of the day - it's teamwork) Worse than trains - skiing. Why would you do THAT?
  16. Kwal-itee motah them's was There's a huge knob (fnar) for the choke there, brilliant design - if anyone tries to slide across the front seats to get out the opposite door then their knee will just snap that right off. Ask me how I know.
  17. That one is also still there (handy for wheelchairs - maybe a bit steep)?) The police stables in Great Scotland Yard have their ramp internal to the building - I saw it when it was being renovated around 1994 - all the stables there are on the first floor- (allegedly) in case of flooding. I worked around Central London 1981 - 1997 and, now, regret the fact that I didn't give a tinker's cuss for any of the history of where I was working - that era seems to have slipped from history - too young to have been properly curated and too old to have hit the internet/digital camera age. A lot of the buildings have been demolished, often re-demolished in the property treadmill that we seem to have as an economy these days.
  18. End of the Westway with traffic from the Harrow Road pushing in so as to use the Marylebone Flyover - early 1980s. Paddington Basin is over to the left and that was a total dump back then. Wharf Road was cut in two by the Westway - here's a picture from the old GWR stables in what is now South Wharf Road - I was told that is was once the biggest urban stables in Europe - no idea if that's true. Stables got disinfected and turned into part of the adjacent St Mary's Hospital [edit] - my memory needs a rebore. Nth and Sth Wharf road have the canal running between them - they've always been seperate.
