Don't inflict your wife on anyone.
Leave her at home. When she asks why tell her because she's a "horrible cunt who can't be fucking trusted". Try and do your best Alan Ford impression, glasses optional but recommended.
It maybe your Dad's last Christmas and you don't want her ruining it.
As for your Dad, being realistic and excepting the inevitable doesn't make you heartless.
You will care when it happens, very much so. If you don't then yes there is something very wrong with you.
    Good luck.

Maybe you just aren't that close. You don't have to be. There is no manual on how to be. You don't have to sob every day for hours on end.
For me it was silly stuff that I'd phone and visit my Dad for. Car related things, football stuff, shit jokes I knew he would like.
You'll find your own way with it soon enough. Don't be too hard on yourself either, it's not a competition to grieve.
Go to the funeral, show your respects and that's it.
Anyway, I hope your Dad still has a fair few Christmases left in him.

    1. White car should of backed off and slotted in behind the truck. (They were following too close to the red car also merging)
    2. As the white car didn't, the truck should of backed off then, turns a smash into just a near miss.
    3. The next truck video must of been light loaded or empty. They should have been passing the bus slowly expecting some child to run out, they would already have the brake pedal covered. They didn't technically stop in time, they slowed just enough, giving the child time to run further away.
With a full payload, the unit and trailer wheels all splatter that kid.

Okay, I've kept you all waiting long enough, here is my latest acquisition:

A 1997 Daewoo Espero CDI Auto. Dumped unceremoniously outside an interior design joint.
The garage next door are putting it through an MOT as I speak, fingers crossed it passes.

I was very pleasantly surprised at both the smoothness and quietness when I first drove mine. I think the word I'd use to best describe the driving experience is Effortless. They're not at their best around twisty-turny B roads, but if you just want to go places and do things, a w210 is a great way to convey yourself around. The larger engined options have even got a bit of spunk if you tread firmly too. Not V8 torque, but they launch respectably and keep going if you maintain your clog stomping.
    Id not sell mine.
So be careful. Your winter car might hang around longer than a Christmas dinner fart.

I’ve never had a Benz before… an never really got the hype, so maybe it’s time to find out.
I’d cast the net wide for the search for a winter car, when this popped up nearby. I dismissed it. It really considering a Merc… but when a week later a friend sent me a link to the ad, I had another look. After missing out on a Volvo I wanted, nearly buying a BMW 325, and then discussing some other options on the zoom on Tuesday it came down to a straight shoot between this and a diesel 75, and this just seemed heaps betterer.

Yes… that’s 56k, backed up with service history and mots. It drives beautifully, and is very very comfortable! Very little rust, just a small blob or two on the rear of the arch.
Fingers crossed this might be a rather nice steer!

I bought a k11 micra unseen and most importantly unsmelled at auction.
Dog hairs an inch thick in it, thankfully the dog smell was so strong it actually masked the two hidden dog shits I found in it. (One under each front seat if you were wondering, must of rolled under with heavy braking?)
It was a green celebration model w reg, strangely I turned the same colour of green 🤢
