    Ive recently adopted this orphan…

After a colourful life including three engines, and at least 1 new gearbox, its spent the last few years dragging its older, more glamourous relatives about for spares and restorations. (photos by St Austell Bay classics)

Anyway, its been replaced by a discovery 3- and there was a possibility the next step would be for it to be sold off in parts through their e bay account.
I was interested in it as its an unusual colour for a p38 and its a very low spec one.
No extra wood, more basic heating system, no sunroof, no leather etc

Its also has had the rear seats removed and the load bay extended. easy enough to reverse.

So its the poverty model of the least appealing range rover. But its had everything its needed mechanically as its been in front line use.

It wafts along nicely on air, whilst not particulary quick (its the 2.5 bmw 6 diesel) and although the interior needs a clear and a few (cheap) replacement bits, it still feels special to drive.

I think it looks quite funky in white.

Even when I was in direct contact with these nutters over WhatsApp I still had no idea what was going on.
I have learned not to make any assumptions any more.

Food. The Double Six cafe down the side of Euston station. You know it's good when this is the fablon on the tables and the italic table numbers.

Well we crept out of Leeds station and promptly stopped, call for aid button activated. Possibly someone fainted due to extortionate pasty purchase.

Its been slightly gifferised with some later mb bits- which make my eyes itch- but its spent almost its entire life life in central london and looks pleasingly rot free. Ive probably had about 25 w124s so immediately went to the front spring perches and rear subframe mounts. VERDICT- they exist.

Why am i freezing my ass off in a dorset village waiting for a post office to open?

Well it all began at 5.15 when i fired up the w220 and drove into deepest dorset, to do a swap.
    For this 230te 7 seater

After we did the swap it became clear its on the disabled tax thing- hence freezing my ass off waiting for the post office to open- where im hoping that my v5c/2 will allow be to change the tax category, and tax it.

I am always a bit suspicious of barn finds. They seem to be everywhere and usually have been left to rot outside then dragged inside for a few months before being offered for sale. Add to that that it was on Ebay and I was doubly suspicious. But curiosity got the better of me and I decided to have a look.

On arrival I was met by a 1965 122s which hadn't moved from a dry garage in 30 years. Yes, there was rust and a poor respray but this car had been loved so much that the previous owner couldn't bring himself to part with it. Unfortunately the car has outlasted him and his widow reluctantly decided to sell it.

This appealed to me and a bid was placed. And I won. Oh heck. That was back in September.

Now that @juular has succeeded to get his 122s on the road, is there any interest in the story?
