  1. Adam Buxton had a Mk3 Fiesta painted like the General Lee, can't find a picture online.
  2. The A-Z of Cars of the 1980s mentions these, can't remember the coachbuilder, not many lasted into the 1990s.
  3. I had a slightly bigger trailer like that which came in a set with a Tractor unit & a civil engineering vehicle. I'm not sure if it was made by Maisto, but the plastic parts were brittle.
  4. I heard the second one was completed, painted white with LHD & is in a collection in one of the Gulf States.
  5. VW Beetle on a German export plate, which were oval shaped until 1988.
  6. His name is Bobby, (oo-oo) Bobby DeNiro (aa-aa), he's a loverly person (oo-oo) and a very good actor (aa-aa)!
  7. Sometimes known as Mansfield bars, after Jayne's unfortunate head trauma in an accident.
  8. Michael Sheen's Dad taking him out in a pram during a holiday to France?
  9. My Dad used to point out on driving around Manchester how the pubs were left standing during regeneration, while the houses were pulled down & replaced.
  10. I think 3 wheelers were taxed at a lower rate, which explains by some smaller makers went down that path.
  11. These & the Routemasters were designed to be easily stripped down & rebuilt. My Dad had a DVD showing how buses were handled at Aldernham, which was like a production line but the taken apart before being put back together.
  12. One of the Haynes books on classic car restoration mentions using a growler to calibrate dynamos, especially as the regulator boxes have often been messed around with over the years.
  13. Possibly they were fitting early electronic ignitions, my Dad remembered a friend having one fitted to his Mini that made it an almost guaranteed first time starter.
  14. Some footage from Duel was used in an episode of The Incredible Hulk, especially when the truck crashes at the end.
  15. I heard 300 odd Chargers were written off making The Dukes Of Hazard, it got hard to buy up 69s so some other model years were used in the later series!
  16. This is mentioned in Ian Dury's song Razzle In My Pocket.
  17. I read Pat Jennings did something similar when he was a milkman before turning professional.
  18. I briefly had one of these but the lights stopped worked very quickly so my parents got it exchanged for a Rover SD1 police car my Mum still has around for my Nephew to play with.
  19. Eventually the MOD bought all the remaining Montegos as a job lot.
  20. Yes I heard he lost part of of leg.
  21. The Latin American divisions of the big manufacturers seemed to have all sorts of odd models, especially when they bought up another makers operations & kept the models in production but rebadged. The Brazilian made Avenger was sold with VW badges from what I remember.
  22. According to Derek Bell filming was chaotic as they had to match scenes to the weather, and make sure the cars had the right amount of grime on them to show they had been racing for hours. Some of the driving was tricky as they were usually not filming with the tyres warmed up. He had a lucky escape when the Ferrari he was driving burst into flames, but managed to escape with minor burns.
  23. One of my Uncles had 2 of them, he said they were nice to drive but a little underpowered with the 1089cc engine when fully loaded. One of his had a little end go while going on a holiday & needed to finish the journey on a low loader! It cost quite a bit of money to get it fixed. This was when I was very young, & the first car I can remember him having was a Mk2 Cortina.
  24. Did you hear a "wheezing groaning" sounds like vworp, vworp!?
