Thanks that's good to know.

I wonder if James Herriot noticed the name Farnon from the shop when he needed an alias for his sibling co-vets when writing his books. Almost everyone in it was based on someone real but had he changed their names to protect the innocent.

I've got some family in the area, but I've not been into the town centre for a few years.

No I'm in Stockport, but as mentioned in another thread it was a case of one franchise being swapped for another.

I remember a Chinese girlfriend of mine needed the concept of Frankie & Bennies explaining, getting confused over being a mix of Italian & American food! My local one is now a Tim Horton's. I've only ever been to the original Harry Ramsden's, it seemed a hard sell as a franchise as there are still lots of independent fish & chip shops around with sit down areas.

Like the Fiat 850 that featured in a few episodes of The Sweeney, 1960s-70s American Cop show Adam-12 often had a 1967 Ford Mustang as a background car or occasionally used by a character: More information here: http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_556109-Ford-Mustang-1967.html Edit: There's even a red Fiat 850 coupe in one episode! http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_556100-Fiat-850-Coupe-100GC-1967.html

Interesting that it's RHD but (West) German registered. I presume the near side dangly mirror had broken off & been replaced. The black grille is also of note, being only used on early low spec ones.

Looks like it was a good event, shame I'm too far away & currently busy to make it.

The Morris Minor is looking a bit rough after only 5 years on the road maximum!

I walk past the same spot most week days.

I've not seen tools by the roadside, but a gas engineer left some pliers on the top of my boiler, which I didn't find until I was having a sort out a few months later. My parents have gains some tools this way, including at least one screwdriver & a basic multimeter an electrician left behind & never came back for. This was used by me for a bit, went into the attic then dug out by my Dad & now at my flat.
