  1. I've always liked Camargues but it looks so wrong to see one with those plates
  2. Less extreme, but I have a car that's the same. First used October 2002, first registered in UK in June 2003. It was given a 52 plate Later after a private plate change, it seems it ended up on an 03 plate
  3. Used to happen a lot in my family. My dad always felt he knew best and would buy my mum a brand new car without even mentioning it. She would prefer the car she already had and therefore he would have to sell the new one a couple of months later.
  4. "ULEZ complaint" I suspect anyone who is in favour of ULEZ would complain about that driving around their area, yes
  5. Usually I just collect the entire contents of the sump in my armpit
  6. Those wheels look great. You'll see them in the intro to the video of The Road to Hell by Chris Rea. You'll also see a load of other cool stuff like the butresses on a Jaguar XJS. 1989
  7. I've never done a survey, but anecdotally I think it must be ERF I am sure that I see far more old ERF doing work than any other type of truck. Actually, I can't remember the last time I saw a 30+ year old working that was not an ERF You do also see 1980s Leyland and Mercedes 7500kg models in summer being used privately as horse transporters. Occasionally also Bedford
  8. The rebranding happened around 2015 or so, I think. Citroen DS3 became simply DS3 around then, for example
  9. I remember buying them for £300 with MOT. They were fun times My X300 XJ6 has never been welded and won't need it soon. It's just not rusty
  10. Similar thing - my parents have had that happen at their house this autumn. First time ever and they've been there since 1995. They're several miles away from and probably 300 feet above the nearest river, but there is a steep bank to the side of the house and it streamed down there. They had dumped a big pile of firewood in the channel where the water would normally escape....
  11. I'd be surprised if a base spec 206 in 1998 had had central locking as standard. I think it was still normal for base spec versions of small cars to come without central locking then
  12. I think we know it'll just be that they're getting stolen because they're a valuable spare part, but that doesn't get attention like mentioning drugs!
  13. I have a Porsche with xenon headlights and the unit pops out with just a 90 degree turn of a key Also there's a Mercedes logo stamped on everything related to the xenon part, so I would guess it's just a Mercedes system on that particular model
  14. Apparently those headlights can be used to provide light to grow cannabis
  15. "a little rust that will most likely need attention" That nearside sill is absolutely rotten for at least 12 inches!
  16. There weren't many automatics at that time with more than 3 speeds. I'd have been very surprised if Ford had used a four speed automatic then
  17. I think that might be what it is. A sort of perverse pleasure in removing something nice from circulation among people who would like it. I think it's probably best to describe it like a personality or anger disorder - if you don't have it, it just doesn't make sense that those people want to alienate, offend and upset others.
  18. At £1200 to buy and £870 to insure, that sounds ideal. £2000 might be a lot of money to you, but to buy and insure a first car that meets your requirements, it is really, really cheap. I can't see that you could possibly do better for the money.
  19. Has there ever been a car manufacturer in Redcar? If it, it seems like someone missed a trick there
  20. The proportions are similar but they're not related. For example, this is transverse engine and front drive
  21. You couldn't really buy most of them if you were a normal Soviet citizen so it's kind of moot and you certainly didn't have a driveway. The GAZ was really the top car you could get as a normal person and in cost:salary ratio would've been (I suspect) more expensive to a Soviet citizen than the Rolls-Royce was to a UK citizen and with a longer waiting list. So that's probably the closest comparison.
  22. I haven't seen any snow yet this winter
  23. I'm sure I recognise this car and registration but can't work out where. It either belonged to someone I knew in about 1998, I've seen it on another website at some point or I'm completely mistaken and I've never seen it before.
