  1. I don't like the motion for a start - makes me feel queasy Then just the stations and I just prefer travelling in private
  2. I've driven it a few miles around Bristol and so far I like it. I havent driven a P38 for 10+ years but remembered instantly why I liked them. It is in rough condition and that's why it was cheap, however the important things are good. Steering feels just how it should, engine is how it should be and I'm amazed how good the gearbox is. You cannot detect gear changes apart from by watching the rev counter. The air suspension is just right too - these cars really lose part of their character when they're on coils. The air suspension is excellent
  3. I think the emissions thing was to do with producing less CO2 than the V6 (better fuel economy) so it meant cheaper company car tax and more fleet sales
  4. Is there a mode of transport that is worse than trains? I haven't been on one for years and today is reminding me why
  5. This. Also why the 75/ZT got the 1.8 turbo but not the VVC It was a light pressure turbo that was designed to be fairly lazy and cheaper on company car costs than the 2.0 V6
  6. There is a collection for me underway at the moment but I'm not there. A good friend of mine (who's not on this webshite) will be collecting a car from a shiter shortly... The collection is for me. I just couldn't make it so he's doing me a big favour. I think he's currently on the M5
  7. I'm not terribly far away and would lend some labour. It'll stop me actually doing anything to fix/improve my own cars and house, and that is just what I need
  8. My parents were never like that, but I remember my grandparents were. "Did you see that train crash on the news?" "Which channel?" "Well, I saw it on ITV, but surely any chan....." "Oh, we wouldn't have seen it then."
  9. I had one for several years and I still think it was quite a well made car, overall. Not perfect but certainly good for its class and era
  10. I think it really depends on quality of engineering and build too. My BMW is approaching 270k and 19 years on its original chain and the chain is silent with no sign of wear that I can hear It's a diesel and I've been changing oil and filter when it asks for it on the screen in the dashboard. Every 20k miles or so, usually. That has been a little under 6 months for most of the time I've owned it. I imagine with previous owners it only had new oil every 20k or so when it asked for it Some others don't last even with fastidious maintenance
  11. I don't think that would be controversial. Probably would be controversial to say it looks better than the 406
  12. I've always thought the Corsa C would be a cockroach. I still see plenty around They're pretty rust-resistant for a small car that came out in 2000 (much better than the Polo or Fiesta) and the most popular engine (1.2) is a chain, so forgotten belt changes didn't write them off Although most of those chains started ticking/rattling by 50k or so, most seemed to merrily tick on indefinitely rather than actually snapping They seem to avoid rust better than the Corsa D too
  13. I remember thinking that was quite a nifty idea when I first saw it, but ~20 years later, I have not once wanted to take a bicycle with me on a car journey. I wonder how popular they were
  14. Unfortunately they're now called KGM....incredibly bland compared to the SsangYong name that has just disappeared https://www.kgm-motors.co.uk/
  15. Presumably this means they can be fitted with towbar and electrics, but only when being built at the factory?
  16. Fair play that you stuck it out and gave them of the benefit of the doubt and even after trying 910 TTs, you still tried one more
  17. Yes, this is true. I think only with a proper driving instructor rather than with parents/older siblings on L plates
  18. It was probably scrapped but DVLA not notified. That sort of thing wasn't really controlled back then
  19. I would agree. It's a poor financial decision that he made nearly ten years ago. I don't know why he would expect Regtransfers to be responsible or return his money
  20. I can work out most of the translations from Norwegian but I can't work out what "Isle of Man" could possibly be in English
  21. If he flew to Birmingham or East Midlands, I could very easily drive him to Shitefest
  22. I disagree. I think you're exactly the type of person who would be very welcome However, I don't want to put pressure on you. You have no obligation to attend 🙂
