  1. @horriblemercedes yeah, fingers crossed you can work something out.
  2. What's the scratch removal paste you used please? My next door neighbour's girlfriend seems to have problems avoiding the drystone walls on our narrow lane and it's been the cause of arguments between them and I'd like some peace and quiet!
  3. Be good to meet you @KruJoe will you want breakfast on the Sunday morning? £2 for a bacon roll, could do with an idea of numbers please.
  4. Went on a fact finding mission to Dinas Dinlle this morning. Let's hope the weather's as good next weekend. While I was there I popped into the Air Museum. They're happy to welcome us next weekend and the good news is that as a group admission will be £4 per person as opposed to the usual £7 - more money for beer/chips/ice cream! Also went to see Ted at the campsite. If anyone wants to arrive before Friday that's fine, just call the number on the sign when you arrive. I'm teaching next Friday but hope to get there around 3pm. One of the old guard early birds ( @binhoker668 @Ghosty?) can direct you to a pitch if you arrive before I do.
  5. @eggas 83C said, it's Llyn Dulyn, one of the reservoirs that serves Dolgarrog. (Dinorwig is a pumped storage scheme that pumps water from Llyn Peris to Marchlyn Mawr whereas Dolgarrog is a more traditional hydroelectric station). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinorwig_Power_Station https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolgarrog_power_station
  6. Last year we did cars, trains and slate - how about this year we do cars, planes and sand? The thinking man's tour guide for North Wales @binhoker668 has suggested a convoy to Airworld Aviation Museum at Caernarfon Airport https://www.airworldmuseum.com/ "Located on the airfield of the former RAF Llandwrog, the museum has an impressive collection of aircraft and aviation memorabilia. The museum offers the opportunity to get close up to some historic aircraft. Set on an active airfield, the museum houses iconic machines such as the Hawker Hunter, D.H. Vampire, along with the only T2 BAe Harrier remaining worldwide. Please see our website for latest additions to the collection. Part of the museum is devoted to the creation of the RAF Mountain Rescue Service, started here at RAF Llandwrog in 1942, whilst other sections describe the wartime airfields of North Wales. The gift shop sells model kits and souvenirs. Free car parking on site." £7 for adults, £5 for pensioners and kids. no need to book open 10am - 4pm That would take us to my favourite beach, Dinas Dinlle with wonderful views across to Anglesey with the mountains behind. Cafes, fish & chips and ice cream also available. https://www.visitsnowdonia.info/dinas-dinlle
  7. Fun drive to the office this morning. Passed the wild, wild horses (well ponies). And then last kilometre on foot while our kit was brought in by tracked ATV. Our destination was the valve house by a reservoir for a hydroelectric power station. I spent the day in here as Entry Controller. Guiding men into a tight rusty hole so they could measure how much the pipes have rusted in the last 100 years
  8. Sorry you can't make it @Back_For_Morebut don't worry you don't owe anything. Hope your work goes ok.
  9. Thanks for letting me know, sorry you won't be there @Dave_Q
  10. Long range forecast unlikely to be that accurate but I think it's fair to say the weather will be more typically Welsh summer than last year. 11 degrees at night is probably about right.
  11. @twosmoke300 Good news! Wouldn't be the same without a Cornish Contigent
  12. Cheers chaps, post above with list edited accordingly. 👍
  13. It had been a while since the list was updated so I've (hopefully) tagged everyone with their latest requests. Saturday breakfasts will be provided by SVM Catering on a first come first served basis - if you miss out Y Caffi at Y Caban, Brynrefail https://www.caban-cyf.org is half a miles walk from the campsite - their lunches are good too. Sunday breakfast rolls and brews can be purchased from the on site bakehouse (But they need an idea of numbers in advance). Camping is £10 per person per night, please pay me cash on arrival. If anything in the list below is wrong or you're not on the list and want to come please let me know via this thread and I'll edit this post. Six-cylinder was kind enough to co-ordinate a steam train ride excursion last year, I'm mad busy at work for the next couple of weeks but hopefully somebody else will step up to organise something - scroll back through the thread for ideas. In case the forum is having one of its wobbles @Talbot is the admin of the Shitefest WhatsApp group - if he doesn't have your number from last year and you want to be part of the group please PM him your mobile number. Really looking forward to welcoming you all again/meeting you, less than two weeks now! 14. 'lecky bike looks good but if it's not pedal assist only it would be classed as a motorcycle and you'd need the appropriate licence and to wear a crash helmet so beware, keep the pedals turning and don't look like you're doing more than 15mph! https://www.gov.uk/electric-bike-rules
  15. Congratulations on the MOT pass! I'm sure a man of your talents/persistence/sheer bloody mindedness will get the running issues sorted soon.
  16. I've been working at Glastonbury where yesterday I had the pleasure* of driving the shonkiest site vehicle I've ever experienced. This position on the steering wheel set the road wheels dead ahead although there's a good quarter of a turn of slack before anything happens. Clutch pedal has a good couple of inches of slack in the pedal before anything happens and the brakes don't. Fortunately the site speed limit is 15mph. Oh, and this is the state of the NSR hub. Fucking hippies.
  17. My company car for the next week. Just arrived at Glastonbury where I'll be working as a driver for the Croissant Neuf Stage in the Green Fields. Any other shiters going this year?
  18. Congratulations! On getting married and making it to the wedding...
  19. Looks like a good job @mercedade. Would you mind explaining what you used please? Is 3M a cutting compound and was it a sponge you used on the drill? I'm going to have to do the headlights on the Skoda soon. Thanks.
  20. Sounds like you've had a good couple of days with the car achieving and making progress - hopefully you're on a roll.
  21. Best avoided on a summer's weekend anyway. What would people prefer - drive to scenic destination or to somewhere transport related? No shortage of scenic routes to drive to round here! Transport related: https://angleseytransportmuseum.co.uk/ - vehicles from 1920's onwards, £8.50 admission https://www.festrail.co.uk/ - Welsh Highland & Ffestiniog Railway - beautiful but £50! @binhoker668 @brownnova @mat_the_cat @Cord Fourteener - anyone else with any suggestions?
