Welcome back!
If you can read this then the migration is done and you're on the new server. The search is currently rebuilding, so you may find that doesn't work quite right. Usually that takes a day to complete. Please let me know if anything isn't working properly or anything appears missing (especially email notifications for hotmail/icloud users).Β
A fresh backup is currently running which will drive the server quite hard. That'll take a few hours. Hopefully by tomorrow everything will have settled down and be up to full performance.
For the most part, everything should be pretty much identical. It'll be a success if it is.
Thank you for your patience!

Just a note to say that my dad passed away this morning. He is at peace now. I will miss him terribly.

My mum has been suffering with shortness of breath, a cough and weight loss. The GP started investigations v end of Nov and the hospital continued that through December and with invasive stuff last week.
She got the diagnosis yesterday. Mesothelioma - lung cancer from asbestos. Beyond the devestation for her and us as a family we can't think of anywhere she's been to be exposed to asbestos. Ultimately we'll never know where the asbestos came from.
The NHS and GP has been absolutely top notch.
It's all v v sh*t.

Yes, it is a shitbox and it identifies as a Manchester Bee.
I had a small issue with the EML coming on after some heavy downpours. Apparently thereβs an issue with the engine wiring loom chafing the block and the most vulnerable point is the wiring loom for the crank sensor. Water got into it, killed the rev counter and popped the light on. A quick five minute session with the OBD Scanner (that I found in a scrap car at the scrapyard) cleared the code and itβs never came back. The rev counter did die briefly then came back and all is well. Iβm now typing this and realised I forgot to get a section of crank sensor wiring from a car at the yard this morning.
Oh and this happened yesterday.
Welcome to the 100k Club! Badge of honour duly awarded. Well done little car.

I always forget when it's this time again but it's great to see everyone's updates.
I had intended to not change cars this year, a plan which I stuck* to. I blame this place for having too many nice cars for sale.
No change.Β I have thought many times about selling these but nothing has measured up.
75 was bought during lockdown 2020 after my hand went through the bottom of my Clio 172
Bought for scrap money 2 years ago from @SRi05Β . It's been completely reliable and apart from the battery light and parking sensors I have fixed most of the small niggles.
Out:
Lovely example of a Cav but ultimately was just too ordinary to drive, completely reliable and I got a bit bored after a year. It was my 3rd Cav, will it be my last?Β
Out:
I should probably have held onto this but I can't keep them all. Bought from @Jazoli, kept it a year, was completely reliable and it's had several owners on here since.Β
In:
Bought from @AndyIggs for my wife as a daily, served her very well for 9 months but I started to get a bit nervous in a LCBL way. Now strictly a hobby car where I can take my time over stuff and not have to rely on it. I am looking forward to it.
In and out:
Bought to replace the TT as my wife's daily but her foot couldn't reach the accelerator pedal. Needed a few bits of bodywork which I had sorted out so ultimately a very nice example when it left. I used it for a bit myself but I only really liked it because I had an identical scale modelΒ when I was younger. Plus I have discovered a pure 2 seater is useless for me as a family guy and in the end it was just sitting in my garage. Still, a lovely car and interesting concept behind it.
In:
Bought from @paulplomΒ very cheaply as a daily for my wife. Happy with this one for the money and just a few cosmetic jobs to do. Very good on fuel so far, 40 plus mpg.
All of this years sales and purchases have been in some way associated with this place. Winners!

Drives very nice for a 212k mile van.Β

Itβs painfully slow, like really slow. 0-60 in 3 to 5 working days.Β
Β
Heβs given me an ECU with a stage 1 remap on it so Iβm going to fit that when I get a chance, other than that Iβm well chuffed with it.

Looking through the window in the front door this morning, I am starting to warm to this. It was never meant to be my driver but its actually very comfortable, although sitting right over the back axle can make it a bit harsh over speedbumps. It's also very quick and you can really feel the supercharger kick in at about 3000 rpm. It's quite easy to break traction too.
