Mine is about 45 years old with an Escort engine and gearbox, a BMC back axle with Ford internals, Triumph Herald uprights, and a space frame of half inch square section. Fast but cheap* to run.

Yes. 190K miles. Still fine apart from me having to fit a new rear subframe last year. Why do all Japanese cars rot out rear subframes?

better say hello too.I've terrible history of buying bangernomic style cars - Subaru outback 3.0 now, low milage at just over one light second, before that a purple S500 W220 which became shed of the week on PistonHeads when I sold it. I've had better stuff too, MX5 turbo, Caterham, Renault Alpine GTS turbo, 420G P5B etc etc but now down to one car due to ULEZ and a couple of Mallock clubman's cars. Most of the time in London I just use my motorbike. It's by far the best mode of transport here
