Both are owned by men that are smooth like action man.

How will they sell you a new chain in a couple of thousand miles if they do the job properly? I always inspect work these days, especially from main dealers. Too many times bitten to worry about what they think. It takes a proven record of doing things right for me to trust any garage, but dealers are by far the worst.

Gdansk?

The engines won't be that different, neither will the frames and mounting points - presumably you'd just need the UK exhaust system with the emissions control gubbins in to get it approved.

I saw B9 UTE on a Ferrari F355. The brute stalled it twice in traffic after driving in a gear too low for miles so it made a vroom vroom noise.

Is it not, I have an M, Loser? Bit it kind of backfires, doesn't it?

Quite right - better to invest in parts that aren't strictly needed if they're available. It's not only your life on the line, so absolutely better to be safe rather than sorry. -
I thought of an old CB - the only one I can find for sale on the usual websites for under a grand is in Bristol - which is too far. But I'll keep an eye out. Thanks

This is what I'm looking to avoid - bikes aren't rustproofed anything like as much as cars, and while I'm prepared that it won't stay spotless I'm hoping that the sacrificial beater will save the SV from too much rust.

When I got back into biking it was decided that I would use the bike mostly in the summer and the car more in the winter, getting the bike out on those lovely crisp sunny days. But, I love riding and even in the depths of winter when I was doing some refresher training I enjoyed it and didn't suffer with temperatures or the wet... So, I'm considering a winter beater bike to take the salt, mud and general crap instead of my 4-month-old SV - the budget is very low, and I can maybe stretch to a grand. Not necessarily expecting anyone to have something to sell for this sacrificial tour of duty.. but, requirements would be MOT to cover the Winter. Tough enough to live outside under a cover and be reliable - inside storage is full. Enough performance to accelerate out of trouble from 60mph if required. I'd imagine most 300-500cc bikes could fill this. Decent road manners, with a fairly upright position due to aged vertebra. I really don't mind if it's a scooter, an ADV, Naked, a tourer or what - but sports bikes need not apply (I like to ride, not stop every 20 minutes to straighten my spine). Any recommendations?

That looks great, I did Hunstanton to Gorleston on Sunday, having gone to Hunstanton to see how many bikers were out I just decided to ride instead of hang about - stopping for an ice cream and then a fry up on the way, obviously. I hugged the coast as much as possible and had a rather lovely day. Nothing as awe inspiring as the scenery you saw, but pleasant none the less.

Ah, but the display is probably coded to the brake disc in some way. Wouldn't want to experience brake fade when the display gets too warm.

Indeed, I see 7 plus presumably a driver.

Every 3k if memory serves, valves every time. By comparison my SV is 7.5k oil change, with valves every 15k I think. Also is averaging around 75mpg, with a best tank of 78. My lads old YBR125 is 4.5k for 'revvy single'.

The biggest issue with covering long distances on an RE would be the relatively short service intervals - if you're OK with those, they'd cope as well as any other bike.

So the joke was wrong and thats why they had heated rear windows.

Drawing the roffle on Saturday, then?

His is not registered and therefore not road legal - if it can't be registered it can't be used outside of privately owned land. It really is that simple. I don't know the full details, but until he has managed to get it registered, he can't use it on the road but he was - and that is the only point anyone made here. Yours, if its registered, and has the necessary tax and mot exemption applied and is insured - fill yer boots.
