  1. I've only ever seen Q prefix plates, Q123 ABC. As far as I know, that's not a valid UK plate... A quick Google suggests it might be from Luxembourg.
  2. I've often wondered why LBF must have a car that can take an assembled scooter... I'll be honest, and don't know the details of your abilities but if you are able to walk short distances then surely one of the smaller scooters that can come apart easily and reassemble in moments is preferable to limiting your choice of car so dramatically. I got a small scooter and a pushchair, and all required baby paraphernalia in the boot of a Focus hatch, and the Octavia can easily accommodate the scooter parts strapped to the rear of the seat and two dogs in the boot. I'm not asking for loads of personal details, but consider what it is you actually need - and whether you still need that same thing when a car will get you almost all the way to your destination.
  3. Did my test in a 1984 Fiesta. In 1991. Was quite old by the standards of the day, but not exceptionally so.
  4. Local fleet is mostly newer VAG stuff, and Corsas, but I'll keep an eye out for anything interesting.
  5. But was it not you that posted the map, with the dot for the destination just off Muirhead road....?
  6. If it isn't a London Taxi, posting the map with the destination at London Taxis Direct Ltd is a cruel, cruel trick and I might go and sulk in the corner.
  7. Out for a ride on the Motorsickle for the first time in a couple of weeks.... The roads are so filthy, I try to avoid trying to cope with it at night and on wet roads - it's hard to tell whats slippery and what isn't. Its chilly, but clear and winter gear is so good these days it really doesn't matter. Can't think of a better way to turn petrol into pleasure.
  8. Bloody crap, badly made MG tyres. Good job spares are readily available.
  9. The problem with parts for these doesn't fill a person with confidence for second-hand MG's in the future, does it? I test drove an MG5 last year, and quite liked it (apart from the box that holds the sensors behind the mirror is so large you might as well have a giffer sat nav directly in your line of sight) and was considering a second-hand one eventually. Too risky if the company refuses to support past models, IMO, and buying one new is daft because the quality does not match the price. On the plus side, they'll be silly cheap second-hand eventually, because even minor borkage will mean calling the scrap man.
  10. 4 household vehicles. All bulletproof - though 1 bike did get trailered for some work with better tools than I possess after I broke an exhaust stud in the head. Otherwise, no motoring calamities of any kind... He says, thoroughly jinxing it.
  11. "The AA" So you know what to call for it.
  12. To be fair, up skirting Dundee is quite an accurate description, assuming the view is of 28 year old granny pants that used to be white and have been washed 4 times in total.
  13. I prefer to try teleportation than relying on public transport. I get to my destination more often.
  14. Much festive cheer to you all.
  15. What the powers that be fail to see is that if you enforce and follow up on the minor stuff with a visible presence, that all crime rates are lowered because those that would do it are put off by the possibility of police about looking at the minor stuff. Police in view is all it takes to lower crime dramatically.
  16. If you want reliable, something from and MX-5 or an old rwd Toyota or Datsun is surely the correct choice?
  17. That's the finest purchase justifying man maths I've seen in a very long time. Good work!
  18. Mine went from £294 to £480 in November on my renewal from Lloyds. Well, that's what they wanted. I got better cover and zero excess, that's zero compulsory and voluntary. Still protected no claims and business use. All for £296. From Aviva of all people. North Norfolk, 2010 Octavia diesel estate. Insurance is legalised robbery, nothing more and nothing less.
  19. If we're being that Pacific, I'll go for a Metro GTa with a wi-fi front subframe.
