  1. Does "oil swivel pin" refer to the king pin? "Grease" over to the left of drawing refers to left wheel bearing, under a cap. "Grease" other side refers to right wheel bearing ?? It must have 2 bearings, one each side of the wheel centre line. Dont know how you would get the grease in there though. Is there an exploded drawing of that area?
  2. Ah, I see it now !! You put the washer on first, with the bent bit (!) down in the slot, Then put the nut on to the torque setting, Then bend the washer up against a flat to lock it. Simples!! BTW, the front suspension on the Daf 33 is much the same, with a transverse leaf spring. Its rather like a McPherson strut, except the spring is a transverse leaf instead of a coil.
  3. First time I ever got into a Trabi , let alone drive one, was when I did a Trabi Safari in Berlin, and really enjoyed it!! After reading @Zelandeth thread , I do intend to get one sometime in the future when circumstances allow.

  5. This years house insurance with Priviledge has gone up to £219 from £162 last year. Confused has offered £170, from Priviledge !!. Waiting for Daf with Lancaster next month, lets see what they say.
  6. Isnt that headlight relay the same as '60s/'70s VW Beetle? I remember our 1967 Beetle 1500 (vertical headlights) pull indicator stalk to flash, or if headlights on, change to main or back to dip

  8. Leave it (and the other one) soak in a bucket of warm, to start with, water, with washing up liquid for a couple of days. They should easily clean up then in a fresh bucket of water using a paint brush.
  9. I would take all the carpets out, and dry them out, but leave them in the house until all the leaks in the car are sorted.

  13. @Snake Charmer We did not believe that cooking the ic s on the main pcb (with a hot air gun at 500 C )inside the instruments would work, but it did! Wonder how long it will last! He starts cooking at 2.05 min.
