I've never had my three parked side by side before. They have to park line astern on the drive and even then one of them has to be in the garage.ย
Well I was doing a bit of shunting this morning and there is a space at the top of our Close for two cars that was empty, which is a rarity in itself. Plus the sun was shining and the leaves have just started coming out on the trees so I thought why not.
Like I say, parking for two cars, but when they are all quite small and all yours you can squeeze three in. Obviously you have to start from the left. If I'd put the Triumph in last I couldn't have got out of the car.
Also, how to make a Favorit look like a big car. Park them either side of a Triumph 1300.
Love the Skoda's.

Sadly no budget at the mo, so if someone wouldn't mind buying it and bringing it into the fold. ๐
This one has been for sale for a while, it does need to be bought. Strong money though, a bit* more than I paid for mine.

Ah, that would make sense!
There was a lot of Renault/Volvo crossover going on in the 1990s.
You learn something new every day!ย
I changed the plugs on mine last weekend and the engine casing has a Volvo stamp on it. The guy I got this one off, Petrolblog, has the 5 cylinder version. Same spec as mine, executive, but these were the days when if you chose a bigger, better engine you got more upgrades on the spec. So he has puddle lights, better stereo, electric rear windows and the famous voice synthesized computer.

Lovely motor! Such a rare sight now.ย
I drove a Safrane several years ago and it's one of the most comfortable cars I've been in.
I seem to recall that one had a 5-cylinder engine, but that could be my brain getting muddled!ย
You are correct sir. There was indeed a 5 cylinder motor, it was the Volvo 5 cylinder engine.ย
She is indeed very comfortable, a very good mile muncher. Even if the pace is a little sedate.

Bath. But could also go to Bristol airport or Bristol branches if they are short staffed. I am actually looking forward to it, if only for the 8am start ๐

Like everything it has pluses and negatives , my job is 50% desk 50% physical so it keeps me interested , which company are you are starting withย
Europcar. I'll be a driver picking up or dropping off cars. They have promised that I will never use public transport, there will always be a 'runner' to collect me. There will be some car cleaning, which I don't mind. I do like a clean car! I'm just after as minimal amount of stress as possible. I thought the airport was going to be it but then an American company took over the company I was working for and ruined everything.

If your looking for work then a number of car hire companies will be looking for seasonal staff especially at the airports , if your licence is fairly clean then they'll be driving work , airports mostly moving dirty/clean and workshop , if a a del and coll site then del and coll cars from customers , I've been in the industry 25 years next month ...
tryย
I will be starting exactly this on Monday. The airport has become too stressful with the new, American, management.
Glad to hear you have been doing it 25years, it must be ok then ๐

Safrane sometimes does this, especially if there is a slight incline/decent in a car park. But the Safrane 'creeps' on zero throttle so maybe it's that ๐คท

It's a keeper if only for the fun of getting " oh yes my car has a gun rack" into a conversation ๐
-
When the Merc was new that was a super luxury big barge. But a modern(ISH) family rep car is bigger! I'll have to get the Safrane next to the Merc and compare them.
-
Wow I would never have thought that. The BFG looked much bigger when we picked it up.

The smile from Mrs Cookie means it's a keeper then ๐คช stuff the fuel costs, as long as management is happy then it's a win.

Further to the previous post. Looking at the extensive history of the car the shocks are original. Not bad going, 27 years and 137000 miles with no signs of leaking or losing damping. I just hope the replacement shock (KYB I think) is as good. Our local friendly parrot is doing the welding!! @Cookiesouwest๐๐

I posted in my Safrane thread, but I forgot on here ๐ย
It's only a small patch required on the nearside sill and the spring mounting is the cup that the spring sits in on the shock absorber, so just a new shock needed no welding. Looking through the extensive history of the car these are still the original shocks! Who says french cars are tat????

Went out for a drive in The Forest this morning and the whole area is as waterlogged as I've ever seen it. No chance of taking the dog off the major paths and even some of those were impassable. On the plus side , the place was deserted. We had one of the New Forests major car parks entirely to ourselves at 9am on a bank holiday morning which is unheard of.
I love the new forest. I lived in Sway for a while.

Great buy. My wife has a 1.2 panda auto and honestly we can't fault it.

After a chat with the garage it appears that the only welding required is a patch to the rear seatbelt mount. The front shock mount is the cup the spring sits in and a new one comes with a new spring. So for an old bus she's doing well I think. Booked in for the work and retest next Thursday/Friday.

It was at Farrington Gurney farm shop, just down from Midsomer Norton. There were a few drive it day landys there.
