  1. I'm clueless about trade policies. Presumably you would need to borrow the trade plates as well? What if you get a pull? Would you not need a valid reason for driving a traders car on their plates? (Test drive?) Or alternatively the DOC entitlement- It currently comes up on Askmid as not being insured. So if you aren't displaying plates, imagine trying to explain to plod you are driving it on your own DOC entitlement. I can see it being dragged onto a low loader. Would it not be easier to arrange temp insurance to do it? Or could they drop it off?
  2. Mind this? (GR86 order) Well I properly bottle jobbed it, shat it and pulled my order (although it wasn't really a factory order, they are already built and in the UK) The thought of almost 34K tied up in a car was making me sick to my stomach with anxiety. I think I was being over-ambitious. I don't feel like I'm missing out. In fact I feel relieved.
  3. Whoooooft!! 😍😍 That is absolutely flipping lovely. Right up my street. An Imperial Blue Fiesta Zetec S was my first "sporty" car at 18 years old. An Imperial Blue ST200 was dream-like. Loved watching the yellow/blue Rapid Fit branded ones bombing it round knockhill.
  4. Minor moan. Took the Navara to a main dealer for a brake squeal issue for the second time. I'm 90% confident it's the back brakes (stops when you pull up the handbrake slightly), and told them as such, but they diagnosed it needed new front disks and pads as they were "faulty" (they looked brand new as it's only 18 months old and done 7k) and that they did me a "favour" getting them replaced under goodwill (again....it has only done 7k) 🤣 It's still squealing like fuck (it would do when it's the back brakes!) and they managed to get copper grease on my seat/arm rest and mat. They also washed it...it's got copper grease finger prints on the bonnet and front wing. Don't know why I fucking bothered. I would have been quicker stripping the rear brakes myself to clean them up (but I didn't want to as it's still under warranty) rather than walking the hour back from and to the dealer in the pissing rain. Meh. It's a lease anyway so sod it, they can squeal till I hand it back.
  5. Does the top mount need to shimmy round a bit to align the bottom of the damper? Sometimes I found that aftermarket springs don't quite line up with the stop tab thingy-ma-bob on the top mount or bottom seat on the damper.
  6. No offers. Their finance appears to be rubbish . I'm all for trying once I get a car confirmed and then have the opportunity to sit down with the nominated dealer but I'm pretty confident I'll be going to my bank for it.
  7. I've been lucky enough to have had a few "cheap" lease cars but was always aware it wasn't mine and had to hand it back. This will be my first new car that's mine. It's a hell of a lot of money and I feel slightly faint at prospect of spending this amount of money on a thing!
  8. Well, I've swithered enough. I've placed my reservation on a Sapphire Blue manual as it's the colour I keep coming back too. Time will tell if I get one now. 🤞
  9. I'm assuming you're going for it . What colour? I also received the same email. But I cannot make my mind up on colour! Swithering between Red (standout but might get bored quickly, and £965 for solid paint ffs), Grey or Sapphire Blue.
  10. Superb. I couldn't resist the temptation to relive my youth for a bit. Standard exhaust is definitely the way to go though!
  11. I had a weekends worth of weldathon planned (my only fully free weekend in ages as my wife is away on holiday)....and I just ran out of gas. 🤣.
  12. Holy shit balls I put some new metal into the Celica tonight. It was only a small 10cm x 10cm section but it's a start. Spent a long time faffing trying to setup and dial in the welder. Photos later once I've grind the welds down to save my blushes.
  13. Looks even better from 30 feet away!
  14. My (and @SiC) old 1100 is up again.
  15. I'm sure there's been a million Saab c900 on here, but the 2-door notchback, perhaps not that many. And before anyone says, yes I was a complete fucking idiot to have sold it and it still pains me 10 years later!
  16. I'm buzzing for you Si. You've been after a Spitty for yonks and this looks like a fine machine. Enjoy 😁!
  17. On the A76 before you get down to Mauchline? I swear I saw it sticking out a driveway on Monday.
  18. YODEL clichéd moan: My parcels been stuck in the delivery van since Tuesday...it's went walkies hasn't it?
  19. Don't think it looks bad at all! Much better than the monstrosity ontop of the dash.
  20. Blue Mazda is sold. Only a car but 7 years in my ownership is good going.
  21. Yesterdays news (6/4/79) I found in a loft today. Linwood shut down as someone did a pee pee where they weren't supposed too 🤣
