  1. beeps be gone again need to plug it in again but there seems to be a pattern emerging so it comes on and stays on for a few days, then seems to be off for 2-3 days before popping back on it seems to pop back on when the weather is very humid……..interesting
  2. depending on how much you want for it, i could be very interested
  3. if you want to stick with hydro citroens i’m more than happy to swap my ulez compliment C5 with you for this, i’d say they both have similar values too
  4. this morning driving to work BEEEP antipollution fault it must have been bang on the moment the car got up to temp interesting, still drives well etc now the only thing i can note now this may be coincidence but it often doesn’t start first time on a hot day if it’s been sat in the sun all day
  5. count me out im afraid got too much going on at the moment with a house purchase and i can’t really muster a 4 or so hour drive either in my current state shame as i really enjoyed last year
  6. heres my reviews of everything i’ve driven more than once 2003 Citroen C5 2.0 petrol auto: engine is a superb match to the car, lots of power through most the rev range, smooth, quiet and actually pretty quick! economy isn’t bad for a large petrol either mid 30s-mid 40s on a run gearbox is good, i mean its an AL4 so itll fail eventually but for now its good ride and handling are excellent, handling is very excellent with the hydractive in sport mode……very solid and a reasonable ish amount of feedback through the wheel NO CRUISE!!! i would buy another 2003 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi auto was a very troubled car but managed 180k before the gearbox completelt shat itself engine was good until it wasnt, plenty of power, surprisngly not that economical though, it would struggle to touch 40 mpg towards the end but i think it was just broken ride and handling were excellent, however handling wasn’t as good as the green one due to no sport mode and being an estate but it went down the road lovely i would buy another it had cruise control 2005 Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDi this wasn’t a bad car at all really, it was badly neglected when i bought it so it wound up being a bit troublesome but otherwise it was a decent car, not that quick nor did it handle that well but it drove nicely and had enough power economy was excellent, would easily touch 55mpg broken cruise control i could not fix, also it was ruined by a so called mechanic, lost interest in it and wound up selling it as it never drove the same afterwards i would maybe buy another, perhaps a 2.0 petrol 2009 Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6 petrol exactly as above, however i must admit this drives better than the HDi did, much much quicker and the engine seems a decent match for the car, has been very reliable in the 4 years my grandparents have owned it despite being neglected economy is around 30-35 i’d maybe buy one 2007 Citroen C4 1.6 HDi i was given long term loan of this car when i passed my test, it shat itself big time on the A19 between Peterlee and Sunderland at 4pm on a friday……..that was fun! surprisngly as a serial citroen licker i didn’t like it! very flimsy feeling, drove nicely but felt a bit loose, lots of stuff broken and just couldn’t trust it really i would not buy one 1993 Citroen XM 2.1 TD superb, superb!!!!!! surprisingly reliable, drove beautifully, very economical and was just fantastic in every single way, unfortunately job loss led to the sale which i regret every single day, i absolutely loved that car and i’d swap my C5 for an XM i will be buying another, i miss that car 2010 Honda Civic 2.2 i-ctdi this was my dads car, what a great little thong they are! loads of power, good on fuel and that engine is an absolute peach! really drives well well put together, quirky and never went wrong ride was a bit firm however i would buy one 2018 Honda civic 1.5 turbo petrol dads car, nice enough car, decently sized and looks good! however it’s been quite troublesome lately and just feels a bit meh i would not buy one
  7. in a strange turn of events started up today no light must have driven around 40 odd miles, no light im happy with that
  8. i don’t have a replacement pump as of yet, however i’m going to be running lexia next week or so to check the codes to see if it’s the same issue like i suspect it is glad to hear it’s a decent lump, they certainly drive well enough and are quite economical considering the age and being petrol yes i seem to be having a couple of little AL4 issues, mostly with weird locking of the torque converter one is very strange, it seems to lock/unlock/lock/unlock rapidly while driving slowly down a gentle incline almost as if it’s trying to do some form of engine braking, it seems so controlled so it must be designed to do that other times it randomly unlocks the converter at speed and then doesn’t like to lock up again for a little while sometimes it has absolutely horrific up shifts but it’s not as bad as my old one always slips from first to second when cold if put under any load, fine after that its coming up to 52k miles so it’s likely the valve block will need attention soon
  9. no hissing or anything, did have a little puff of a refrigerant sort of smell for a second or so today but it was mega hot and running full pelt immediately and i’ve noticed that on every car i’ve owned i might see about getting it done in the coming weeks
  10. how easy is it to clean it out? just perplexed me as i didn’t think the pump ran when the engine was hot and running either but every day is a learning curve it certainly runs well enough, silky smooth, silent etc really is quite a nice engine really i mean, in comparison to my previous C5 i can quite happily live with it just doing this every now and then, considering barring some door locks this is the only issue i’ve had in nearly 10 months of ownership my last one had already had a gearbox repair, rear arm bearings etc so this is a nice relieft what are these EW10s like long term?
  11. air con is still lovely and cold do we reckon it’s worth getting a regas or an ac service? apparently hasn’t had a re gas since 2019 or so
  12. as the song goes “there is a light and it never goes out” oh dear! BEEPS BE HAPPENING! we have a re illumination different circumstances this time engine up to temp, hot day, parked outside a shop in order to buy a drink, left the engine running as my partner was waiting in the car and i wanted her to stay cool and leave the air con on i was in the shop literally 30 seconds when i got a text “your car has just beeped and said anti pollution fault on the screen” i had left the car unattended for 3 minutes in total surely an air pump fault would only affect it from startup?
  13. i drive a C5 with an AL4 its started doing something weird gearbox wise i prefer to just drive around it, it doesn’t lock its torque converter at cruising speed rarely and at complete random if i shift manually down to 3rd, then back to 4th a few times then back to D it works im ignoring it, i suspect what it is and can’t be arsed with that again
  14. here’s a strange one that happened last night hopped in the car after it had been parked about 20 minutes started fine and then seemed to misfire and splutter, then cut out started back up after a good long crank and tried to do the same again but managed to quickly jam the throttle and held it around 3k rpm for a moment and then all was fine no repeat since running and driving absolutely fine just seemed odd
  15. still no light back on ac ice cold economy shot up with the better weather im happy
  16. i’ve ordered one from ebay for £15, i can’t complain at that price even if it only lasts a few years glad it’s not something major
  17. over 400 miles covered and no eml so should be fine i’d say
  18. i'll put myself as a maybe i'll have to see how things go, how i feel etc but i'd like to try and make it been quite ill lately so don't know if i'm up for a mega long drive
  19. so far so good, not come back on so time will tell what happens
  20. yes indeed anti-pollution fault, i suspect it might be related to that whirring noise i've noticed recently at a cold start
  21. i mean compared to diesel issues they can have i can live with this, i don’t mind it needing a new pump considering the age of the car and the fact it’s been incredibly reliable so far time will tell and i shall keep the thread updated
  22. common issue i’m guessing? reckon it’ll pop back on?
  23. achieved 50k miles today also what do you notice? yes i’ve had an illumination! this is the fault, should be entertaining to sort, deleted the code and the light has stayed off though
  24. i must admit new droplinks completely transform a car i cannot express just how much nicer they make a car
