They're Pirelli cinturato's so absolutely useless but they've got 6mm on them and I've paid 3k for the car so they'll have to stay for now

just dropped my partner off at work, a very snowy XM! it has no ABS, as I discovered during a loss of traction event on route, shit myself sliding towards a kerb thankfully stopped in time

Status update its great, drives great, runs great and is stunning changed a brake light bulb as it had a warning up on the dash which I was told was false, i don't think the previous owner realised they actually have 4 brake light bulbs I'll get the thermostat replaced in the coming weeks, I suspect it needs a new hazard light switch as well and some dash bulbs but it's really fantastic i must say the ride is a bit firm, but it's been sat since July so it'll sort itself out soon have some more photos

Made it back no issues at all few minor issues that are surprisingly easy to sort thermostat seems lazy and sticks open hazards only work on the right hand side needs some dash bulbs if that's all it is then I'm dead happy, it drives beautifully!

C5 all being cleaned out, this is a new daily I'm getting
  10. Today 5pm absolutely Baltic, heavy snow and much stress poo count - current ongoing number 1 nerves and excitement are building
  11. Went to look at a car last night, something extremely special to me it was a thousand times better than expected deposit is put on said car, should be bringing it home around the 3rd December super excited!
  12. Stuff is happening not this very car but keep your eyes peeled over the next month or two something very exciting is in motion
  13. Reckon this could be the cause? it's a strange fault, sometimes comes on right from startup, other times not until you've driven for a bit, other times not at all abs works absolutely perfectly when no lights are on surely if it's a sticking valve in the pump then it'll come on straight away all the time as I presume it runs for a second when the ignition is turned on as part of a self test? sometimes not even when the brakes are applied and driving down a perfectly dry road its really weird im very tempted to clean these battery clamps
  14. As an actual car, it's great, drives superb feels rock solid and very comfortable, engine is responsive and quick and the gearbox shifts as well as any AL4 I've ever come across everything works too even the ac is ice cold! bodywork is alright, Laquer peel here and there and a few marks its a beautiful driving car but I never really fell for it like I did with the red one if that makes sense? service history is impeccable albeit due for one around now (last done 11k ago, rarely short journeyed and petrol so still fine) I just fancy a change
  15. Blackpool illuminations is upon us yet again after some heavy rainfall I've got STOP SERVICE and brake and abs lights on no eml im contemplating selling this car in the coming months, I want to go back to an XM would there be any interest in it?
  16. Just scored this off Facebook marketplace for £30! Looks near enough brand new and works great, plus was only a 5 minute drive away what's even more exciting is it's the same model as the upstairs vacuum so tools etc will be interchangeable here's a photo of them both together
  17. I rather enjoyed seeing you yesterday and helping you out with this fine beast im slightly jealous of you! It's a Time Capsule! the dealer was interesting too
  18. Over 100 miles covered now, with a variety of driving and yet absolutely no lights at all not even an eml it could be the battery, it is a newish looking Halfords one but never had an issue starting so will monitor it othwrwise all is well with the car, even washed it today too
  19. for reference here is the crack, it's a biggun went out in the car today, no lights at all, not even an eml over a 20 mile drive decided to test the abs, absolutely rammed on the brakes twice and it worked correctly both times, these tyres are grippy as I had to really stand on the pedal to get it to kick in on a dry road im wondering, I had the washer pipe detach from the bonnet the other week, could this have soaked everything in screenwash causing the fault? I'll keep an eye on it, but it's a strange one, all I did was let the car sit 48 hours
  20. Looking pretty sat there sulking im in a bit of a mood with you
  21. The crack is a large crack along the entire bottom of the windscreen spanning from near the passenger corner to just past the middle, looks awful ABS pump wise, I don't believe a like for like swap will need to be coded, if I could find where the pump is it would make it much easier but I suspect it's under the battery tray and I'll have a look this week some point
  22. Yes they are thats what I'm going to try first and see if I can sort that
