an absolutely peach of a car! 690 miles to the last tank of diesel, very pleased with that needs a good wash to get all the salt etc off but it’s been fantastic so far

Almost 2.5 months into ownership i believe this is the most boring XM thread ever nothing to really report, boost gauge isn't working correctly passenger side electric window needs some lubricant I suppose the main thing to keep an eye on I suspect is the battery, it cranks slower than I'd like but has never failed to start, could be the starter motor but I can't see that being overly expensive and they're not hard to change on this engine doesn't like cold starts, it fires up quick enough but it misfires and smokes like a goodun for a bit, it will cut out unless you hold the throttle at 1,200 rpm spheres are quite flat, getting that done in the coming weeks, ride has been improved however by reducing the tyre pressures from 3.2 bar to the correct 2.2 for the front and 1.9 for the rear otherwise it's being a cracking car, had a lot of use this week but I've done 500 miles since I refuelled and I've still apparently got 1/4 tank left

Sorry this thread is being a lot more boring than expected but it's actually being a very reliable mode of transport

The internal rear glass is absolutely superb!

Not much to really report, it's functioning well as a method of transport had it serviced yesterday, comments were made on how excellent it is underneath, pipe work is like new etc will need a new exhaust back box oh and is pulling much more cleanly after the service, I presume due to a new fuel filter

I've decided glowplugs is a job that can fuck off ill get my partners dad to do it at some point its not horrendous if you cycle them twice I also suspect the battery isn't in the first flush of youth either

Mounted the rear plate today with success also met up with a friend today in his C5 had a drive of said C5, 1.6 HDi 110 I was incredibly impressed with the way it drove, but then again I am a 1.6 HDi fan xm still doing sterling service, needs spheres but otherwise all is good strut tops are like new as well!

Will properly update this thread tomorrow these arrived today, they've done an excellent job! will fit tomorrow

I guess it also needs glow plugs, wonder how much of a faff they are on this engine

these cost me £40 so a ridiculous amount for plates but hey ho they'll look fantastic

These should be arriving soon remade dealer plates with the original supplying dealer markings im so excited

I'm not sure what I'd go for if I was buying a brand new modern probably a Hyundai ioniq 5 as it at least stands out the rest is just anonymous blobs these days

Imagine the absolute fucking liability Citroen could make if they made another, really go all out on hydro suspension and make a completely mental car it would be fantastic itll never happen, they seem happy making dull blobs

Regarding treatment from other drivers ive noticed a significantly less amount of tailgating, bullying and being pulled out on with the XM compared to the green C5 literally an every day occurrence with the C5 and yet absolutely nothing with the XM maybe it has more presence? never really got anything with the red C5 estate either just the green hatch was a target and ruined driving for me

So the other day I had the last bulb pop behind the dash which led to absolutely zero illumination, nothing at all, which made an evening drive back from the metro centre through an average speed check zone a barrel of laughs anyway, hopped on eBay and for the pricely sum of £6 I purchased a pack of bulbs spent an hour today replacing them all and doesn't that look absolutely awesome! a massive improvement oh I also filled up with diesel 400 miles ago, bear in mind a lot of it has been town driving and hilly country roads, it's proving very frugal i reckon I won't have to refuel before the new year, I'd say I've comfortably got 200 miles left

Good luck to whoever has bought that Whole faff on regarding the V5 as well, but I can't see it lasting another MOT without a canny bit of work

yes it is it's Knackered, needs a substantial amount of work and I never really gelled with it which is why I sold it

Absolutely lovely to see other XMs! mines being absolutely cracking! Going for a service etc next month but otherwise nothibg next tasks are to change the battery in the fob and the dash bulbs but that's it

Well over a week in now no real issues, it's proving a cracking car economy seems excellent too! going to buy a few little bits for it to really get it 100% but I've really got no complaints! im absolutely loving it

Another little drive out today i cannot express how nice this thing drives! Up to 80mph with ease in complete comfort the ride is improving too i really am extremely pleased
