  1. They came with one originally, mine has a twin exhaust where the wheel would sit underneath, and someone has removed the rear door carrier.. 😔
  2. It's coming together,, been through all the electrics, separated the rear from the front and put in a split charge to save a flat main battery. Re varnished some of the wood. Sorted all the non working lights and all the switches, then loomed everything up. Starcraft were pretty lax when it came to quality! Had a peek at the mechanicals and underside and its in flippin good nick for a 1993 van. Need a spacesaver and rear door carrier if anyone sees anything!
  3. Usually the starter spins but doesn't turn the engine, or catches sometimes and then slips.and makes a horrible racket.. or it can just run the starter constantly, also with a horrible racket.. you would know either way!
  4. Go for it, I love mine! These 1050s don't seem to have sparag issues, if the battery is low, they just don't turn over. I've never had any issues, but people go on about pudding cables and the like..... they just need a good battery, just like bmws. Oh, check the downpipes . They rot, and are unobtainium for now . Needs a handy and delicate welder..
  5. One for sale at the moment for 2k.. motd March next year.
  6. Mine has a Jap chassis number and is pretty much mint underneath. I passed a big scrapyard full of day vans in Germany, between Poland and Berlin.. wish I could remember where! I reckon on 16-18 mpg, AWD costs a few miles per gallon. Spares are stupid cheap from Rock Auto. The engine is basically a 350 V8 with 2 cylinders chopped off, so as complicated as a sundial. Didji dash too 😃
  7. Far less than an equivalent VW would be.. under 5k will get you a nice one.
  8. I've been away from shite for quite some time now- got fed up, and spent most of my time with the bike. After my close encounter in Germany last month I came home and bought something unseen!. Train down to Coventry, drove home in torrential rain up the M6, Next day I got to work.. Dash out to sort all the electrics bodged over the years and sort out all the cut vaccum pipes for the heater controls. Ripped out the broken MDF camper bits and the failed mega stereo install and built my own cabinets and put some more sensible 6x9s in with some panels i made and covered with crushed blue velour. Still lots to do! Oh, Its a Starcraft Chevrolet Astro EXT AWD. 1993. Japanese Import.. 63,000 Miles!
  9. It was like new! '70 383 4 barrel. I knocked over my coffee when it came in! My no1 dream car. Sounded amazing too.
  10. Saved the best for last... the citroen is an M35. WANKEL!
  11. Home from my tour, pretty thin shite pickings but I'll post them up. After my near death incident I decided I needed some shite back in my life which is being collected Saturday from quite a long way away. Keeping a lid on what it is, but guesses welcome 😆
  12. Home noo! Total mileage 3343. 84 hours in the saddle and average 49.3 mph. The big Triumph was faultless, swatting away vans and dealing with streaming wet autobahns and 35 degree heat.
  13. Well worth a visit, free entry too. I think if you go on a weekday you can see the workshops in action, top level restorations.. I didn't post all my pics, but there is everything from a Renault Fuego to a Ferrari Enzo,
  14. These 2 where the highlight tho.. a proper 70 383 Challenger , and a proper Bandit spec Trans AM
  15. Feckin renaults! Got sideswiped by a van on the Autobahn this morning, doing 90 overtaking a caravan, this van came up beside me in the fast lane, next I know there is a howl and it turns right across me hard. I remember the wheel being hard right then whacked me on the foot, bounced off it with my shoulder and managed to stay upright. Van wasn't so lucky! All OK, got checked by the paramedics and the air ambulance and they told me my pulse and blood pressure was normal, witness statements to the police said they couldn't believe I stayed upright and wasn't under the van. Having a beer now...
  16. Bimbling through that Europe just now, not far from Bremen at the moment, France was hot, and empty as usual, 2 massive thunderstorms both nights but tent is holding up. Day off the bike today.. Fife to Newhaven Sunday, dieppe to buzancy Monday and buzancy to Bremen yesterday. Cracking wee Simson for sale but wouldn't fit in my top box 😔
