This is so mind bogglingly, indescribably shit I can't even believe it. I've had to come out of retirement to drag it. Just look at the friggin state of that half inch thick 'carbon fibre' grille with two washing machine doors for headlight surrounds. And you're never even gonna know if the friggin suns out with that ridiculous forehead/brow on it. You'll just be rattlin along in the bastard dark all the time, stinking of diesel and (no doubt) chip fat. The door step looks like part of a climbing frame from the garden of a 'Harvester' pub. Just endless delight as every detail looks like a team of 100+ 'Last of the Summer Wine' castoffs have worked day and night to come up with the worst possible idea and execution.   Honestly this should be in a museum.

This had been on marketplace for ages & I was slowly watching the price lower to a more affordable price. It turned out to be a 6 minute drive from my house so it was rude not to go take a look. I'd promised myself before I was 50 I'd either build a kit car or buy a yank tank. I turned 50 last October!!
It was imported, Registered & lived on an American Air force base for over 20 years.
Previous owner bought it as a father son project but unfortunately, his son became ill so his health became the priority.
The car needs all new brakes, wheel cylinders, shock absorbers etc but luckily that's all supplied.
Biggest stumbling block is the 3.8 V6 engine has single point injection & this seems to be playing up. Apparently it ran perfectly well when parked up but now splutters & dies.
So I'll definitely be looking for advise on the 308 Windsor engine issue.
It can't be too much as the car has a genuine 37000 miles in the clock!
The car is so clean it still has most of its factory decals. No rusty holes just mild surface rust.
The lower trim has been removed & all holes welded up. I'm going to colour match the lower section then use steel wool & soap to nib off any surface rust on the body, then boiled linseed oil & white spirits as a varnish
My plans are to sort the brakes, suspension & get it running however I've been advised to rip out all the smog stuff & then look into getting the 14" factory steel wheels banded so I can use the oem P slit hubcaps.
Enjoy & any feedback & help with the engine issue would be great & how to remove the smog stuff.

He inadvertently ended up making something that looked like a late nineties grunge video.

    I got the filters out.

Louis. Have you finished servicing my car yet? You've had the thing three fucking days now!

I seem to have had the honour of being zapped on the A38 by 500tops in his lazy spotters thread, so it would be rude not to make an introduction.
I thought my 405 mania had been cured by the blue one I've had for ten years now, a wonderful machine which has been relegated from daily driver duties to more special occasions, primarilly just to extend its life.  Trouble is, like an old pair of slippers its bodywork is getting pretty tatty and I was always unsure whether to just drive it into the ground or give it a full respray.  Whilst musing on this issue another 2.0 automatic turned up in Hampshire, seemingly in much better condition bodily and with the much prized factory sunroof, cruise and A/C (wouldn't consider one without these three now).
I did look at it early last year but couldn't make my mind up, mainly due to the fact the cruise or A/C wasn't functioning (unsurprisingly) and also because of the drab Sorrento green paintwork.  Not a fan of this colour at all, it needs sunlight to shine on it otherwise just looks a dirty brown/black.  However, the Peugeot Sun gods lined up a few weeks ago, the seller happened to be in Plymouth, with the car,  the day I texted seeing if he still had it.  A deal was struck despite me now having two 405s, a Picasso daily and Mrs Carlo's 206, and no off-street parking except a paid for garage.  Nonsense indeed.
It's a pretty good one.  Managed to sort the cruise myself with a new control unit, air con remarkably just needed a re-gas.  I've fixed lots of other little 405 foibles, well it helps having 20 years worth of spares accumulated.
Now I've sorted the exhaust and put a fresh MOT on I think I'm going to stick it away in the garage for a few months and get some more usage out of the blue one, still prefer the colour.
I find it that everytime I get another 405 I find it doesn't seem to drive quite as well as the one before; seeing as this seems to happen every time I think it must be down to being so accustomed to the way one drives, anything different seems multiplied.

My Mrs has just been rabbiting about Hulk Hogan, I had literally had no idea what the hell she was on about.
Apparently I'd shown her a picture of him either last week or yesterday.
    It was Paul Hogan.
She's on holiday for another 2 weeks.

A modern tumble tryer costs little to run. I have mine on most days and even through the crazy energy prices last winter it bore little impact. Also, they're impossible to kill as there is very little to them and are therefore so easy to fix. Mine is like Triggers broom these days. One time the drum jammed on some clothing and burned out the belt. I stuck a new one on and discovered that the drum was no longer round and made a bit of a noise but over time it just sort of went back into shape and it's fine now 😂
If you really want to save money and space, fuck off your dishwasher if you have one. Totally unnecessary in my opinion and they use a lot of energy (and water). One came with my house when I moved in 12 years ago and it was the first thing to get hunted. I remember I gave it away to this wee man who had a mountain of a wife who took a massive shit in our downstairs toilet as he and I were manhandling the dishwasher into his car.
