An easy way to get rid of the excess after it has dried in, is to paint some more acid onto it. This recombines the dry layer into liquid, which you can then wipe off, leaving the treated pits intact without having to sand it.
I need to fill over shit usually so I need to sand it anyways to get the mechanical bond with filler, used a wire brush a couple of times too and that worked well before sanding it.

Lucky if there was 30 tack welds on that whole pillar,I mean it just goes to show how strong a shit tack weld really is 😂
That isn't all the rot cut out either btw, I've had to leave structure to copy before I chop the lot out so it's gonna get 10x worse than it is atm.
I've already got two of the panels made before I ran out of 1.2mm steel but I've got a sheet incoming tomorrow if Parcelforce aren't part of the strikes.

Do you cover the rust in this neat then leave and primer over?
I mainly use it for tiny pits in steel like on the manta roof etc.
I just douse it in it then I sand what I can back to bare steel leaving it in the bits I can't sand, shoot some primer then whatever top coat.
Acid etch primer is just phosphoric acid in a primer so the acid may well be able to be painted over without sanding it back but I can't take that chance 😂

@GingerNuttz Jeez! you really dont have much luck with "just a small repair" jobs do you? I swear I could send you a Fibreglass boat and it would somehow turn out to majorly rusty LOL
Always expect the worst then you can never be diapointed 😂

Acid is only a temp solution tbh and anything rotten or rusty can only be fixed by cutting it out.
Can hold it back foir a while with acid and a decent primer then top coat tho.

Only in for a bit on the bottom of the A pillar.
had a couple of days to have a poke while I waited on gas so I could let Saabnut know how good or bad it would be.

They're the same ones I have. Got them from machine mart. I've put weighty cars on them like a Saab 9-5, Audi A4 Avant, etc with no real problems except wide tyres struggle.
I have a fear of laying under cars since a Xantia fell on me back in the day so it's big overkill ramps for me these days.
Fear of laying under cars while laying under cars welding 😂

Don't buy ramps, you can have em ones that are under the bench.
I don't know where they came from but I wouldn't put anything heavier than the smaller of your cars on em 😂

After a 4am start yesterday, my partner gave birth to our first child today at 9:50am. We are still at the hospital as it was a difficult labour, but baby and partner are both happy and healthy.
After exhausting lists of hundreds and hundreds of names in the lead up to the birth, we finally decided on ‘Jensen’ today. ‘Austin’ was a close second 😁
Huge amount of respect to my partner, childbirth is absolutely wild.
We were gonna call our latest Jensen after the Interceptor but went with Dax after the Cobra kit cars since we have a girl named Shelby 😂

I'm hoping for blackout riots and looting so I can score some new gear from Machine Mart for gratis.

You're supposed cut the rust out instead of welding to it btw.
