I've not touched or done anything on it for over a year. It's going up to storage and stashed away for a while. Frees up garage room for my BGT/Spitfire to be rotated around with storage and I need to get my MG Midget finished.
Life is too damn busy.
Didn't know you had a Spitfire either, I really need to catch up on some of the threads this weekend.
I've found my mojo again past couple of weeks after going through a bit of mad depression plus the new meds they've got me on for epilepsy are like speed 🤣

I'm glad I'm not the only one who buys a shiny classic and find out it's not after a few judicial prods!
If you enjoyed doing that with the P5, there is always my Dolomite Sprint that needs finishing 😁
Haven't you finished it yet ?
I've not browsed the forum much over the past little while with all the shit I've had going on 😂

That whole floor looks buggered does it not?
It's alright behind the white chalk line according to the pointy hammer 😂
The underfelt stuff on the carpet has been holding water so the floor is all surface rust, will know more once I hit it with the grinder.

Just need to bodywork the pillar and get it ready for painting.

Is that last pic how soft it is or how deep the filler is?
1" deep with filler for a plate with 5 tacks around it on the main jacking point 😂
They knocked the plate in tho then plastered it instead of just welding it all the way around, it would have taken longer to do that than it did to repair it right this morning.

Gulp!
Not as bad as it looks, just someone has filled a tacked on plate over with an inch of filler instead of just knocking it out from the inside.

Still needs a final polish when fully cured but it came up no bad with a gentle buff.
Would have been ready yesterday if I hadn't used slow hardener 🤣

Nah, 'tis JHJ
@GingerNuttzOn the topic of welding PTSD, I thought you'd enjoy what a mate uncovered in his recently purchased mx-5. Sill plates had been hot glued down over this.
Seller said the the floors were perfect. This is after brushing them down. Underside appears to have been undersealed dirt-and-all
That sill is just pure laziness and the fitter should be ashamed 😂

There's the old cam out your other engine laying in the garage btw, I won't use it for anything.
