  1. someone bought this about 6 months before I bought mine Seeing it now on FB I feel both inspired and wholly inadequate at the same time 😂
  2. Not sure how I drove this to Monaco and back, could hardly sleep with the nerves of driving it to the MOT station today. That said as soon as I hit the road I felt ok, knew the car would be fine and really enjoyed driving it again for first time in about 8 months Thanks to @Rust Collectorfor the tip on running a wire from the tailgate earth to a body earth, it's solved all the dashboard light gremlins Car passed the MOT, I think a couple of the crusty bits around the turrets might need attention before the next MOT but for now they are deemed acceptable
  3. located near me in SE London. Couldn't see price. will go back and have a better look if anyone is interested
  4. along with the good news on the Panda (see other post) the Favorit has also been woken from its post ULEZ slumber and moved onto the driveway for a pre MOT once over. Once the Estelle had donated its battery it fired up instantly. Poor thing is starting to look a bit worse for wear though
  5. I assumed the battery would be fecked since leaving it connected since August but when I turned the key it did a small attempt to turn over. So connected the jump pack to see if it would start (ignore the vibration the door was not closed properly and rattled on the catch Bonnet has now decided not to latch, no signs of anything obvious think maybe just needs grease to allow the catch to return to correct posting but its stated pissing down so on hold
  6. Had a look at the gear linkage this morning. As suspected the pin (4 in the diagram) had parted company with the car. The bush and i think all bar one washer were remarkably still there I popped a washer and spare pin on and we now have gears back, although I need to get the car up in the air to make sure pin is seated properly but the Estelle is hogging the ramps and axle stands are elsewhere . Still some good news that it wasn't more serious and the parts needed were in my spare stash Probably should have done this month's ago but hey ho Note, it was all done by feel as can't get line of sight with car on ground so comments on missing bits subject to change;)
  7. The date of log book issue on dvla site isn't necessarily when it was last sold, it was last issue. So house move, name change, replacement for lost V5 etc which might explain your father in laws As for the Sana, I believe its been sold to someone on the Yugo Facebook forum . If he applied for logbook via post and not online it takes an age to show up on the DVLA website
  8. agree with that, was really nice morning last year. hopefully we will get a good turnout again
  9. you should definitely buy mine, it's nice but just broken enough to make it interesting for here 😂
  10. I didn't realise we had a red Quattro turbo on the forum. I saw it at the weekend and was a little bit (a lot) in love
  11. if only it was the Saloon it would be perfect
  12. you get used to the foot/hand brake pedal pretty quickly, to the point where you start going for an imaginary pedal when you are in another car pretty quickly. Same way you no doubt straight for the floor mounted ignition key in your Saab It's still a bloody silly idea on a manual car though I'm sure you will have many miles of trouble free motoring but if you do get any rouge warning lights or issues I have the IcarSoft MB2 scanner here which you are welcome to borrow which scans all the vehicle systems, resets service lights etc
  13. enjoy. I have to say I'm enjoying W203 ownership so far
  14. if you were looking to sell a beautiful restored 155 for 15 large, why on earth would you click the AI advert button
  15. cheers. if it was any other component with that level of change I'd have done it already but HP diesel pumps give me the chills
  16. o rings turned up at the weekend..just need the weather to perk up and my confidence to stay up I really have to get this lovely car in a position that someone wants it
  17. ah ok, sorry for pinching the spot between you both @Talbot @juular. I had assumed as it was a sell out and each place would end up full and seemed a good idea to park next to a similar era Merc but hadn't realised both your cars were together
