My "new" 70/s80s 'Ford' Donkey Jacket!! (Fordomobilia Shite!)
wesacosa replied to CrapCarNerd's topic in AutoShite
my guess would be the Dagenham dock and rail workers wore them -
What was your girlfriend/boyfriends vehicle when you first met them?

Late petrol Alfa 156s

I thought the MK2 Escort only used to be built in Dagenham and Cologne Saarlouis so that's probably correct
-
yeah it had the F O R D lettering instead of the Ford badges, some kind of crest on the key and on the blank in the dash where the fuel/temp gauge go on a rev counter model, an orange oil pressure light and different script on the instrument markings
-
No external linkages or cables IIRC. just the lever directly into the box

love it. I'd be inclined to bin those red Ford badges too, even though I used to have them on my old Capri and thought they were cool

I'll get round to it at some point - XUD Citroens get me pumping hard
wesacosa replied to Rust Collector's topic in AutoShite
Good work I can't even be arsed to spend any time on an evening working on the cars at the moment and I don't have any young kids. There were at least 2 different types of pump as you say (sinkers got larger capacity). I also seem to think that the one on the AC version might be different, I definitely seem to remember it mounts somewhere different to the non AC if nothing else -
