I took some detail shots... The newly-plated brightwork really shi9nes agianst the black, and the 'coined' top half is just so bonkers. Gonna try and get together with the 'other' Palladium soon for some photos

Has anyone else noticed how many people seem unable to judge the width of their vehicle , they'll come at you in the centre of a road when there's bags of room to get two cars through
I have no words

The most effective way to get rid of oil stains on your driveway is to simply move house. Works every time.

I certainly was today as my very good friend from school days let me drive one of his cars to a local show. I’ve wanted a ‘57 Chevy since the very early 1980’s when I built a Monogram model kit of one of these and had my head turned by examples in Street machine magazine at the time. It’s some car, stunning to look at and drives lovely with loads of power and great brakes. My Ford Zodiac MK3 is seven years newer but not in the same league!

I still love the job, but it's always push, push, push. The whole industry is the same. I'm off to be a mobile towbar fitter for a large company, working remotely. It sounds like a good number. I've kinda given up on the idea of being a truck driver.

Yup.. I just sent off my notice email. These hours are crushing my mojo. And I'm getting addicted to Gaviscon.
Onward and upward... well, sideways anyway.

20 years ago, a person in France had a vision. An epic epiphany that would go unsolved for years.
Generations of drivers thought the little cubby hole in the lower dash of the Citroën Xsara Ph2 was for no reason, just to infuriate the driver as their carefully placed small items shot under their feet as they turned right off the a40 onto the b4002 and sit empty for years.
The dream is realised, Citroën foresaw the Samsung z flip 3 🌠
A phone from 2021 worth easily 5x the value of the car it's sat in, fits in the useless bloody hole and doesn't hinder accces to 1st, 3rd and 5th.

I think you’re all right with what you say. The issue I have is at the moment I personally don’t think I earn enough at approx 24k for the time I’ve been at the company however I also appreciate the fact I have a very easy job, good hours, no weekends, flexitime, work from home etc so it’s swings and roundabouts.
Ultimately I’m bored, I didn’t want a career in an office job, I wanted something field based/hands on/driving. Like someone has mentioned further up the thread, I don’t want to die wondering but at the same time after leaving my current job 5/6 years ago for a few months to work at Autoglass, I’m very once bitten twice shy as they were an awful company and I know I couldn’t come back to my current employer for a second time!
I think I’ve come to the realisation that although I love the idea of a recovery job, the lifestyle that comes with it is a big sacrifice and I’m better off where I am - a decent set up, loads of spare time but performing a boring role.
Im going to keep looking at other options as ultimately I’ve spunked a load of money getting the license and I still want to drive for a living but clearly I need something other than recovery work.
Thanks again for the advice guys, I feel I’ve probably dodged a bullet.

@JJ0063 It looks like you'll be doing double the hours for what, hopefully, an extra £250 a month, there are much better, safer class 2 jobs out there. I understand the urge to try something new, particularly something you've always fancied, but try it part time if its possible alongside your current job, then you'll not look back in the future thinking what if. But a recovery driver doing the hours you currently do in the insurance game would be classed as part-time. It really will be a shock to the system and this is no reflection on you, I did it for a bit years ago, only had an hours kip, tough luck, jobs are coming in, hoping to knock off in the next 10 minutes, tough luck this recovery needs driving 2 hours away, its a very hard way to make a living.

Popsicle reacted to Soundwave in Couple of local car shows... but just the shite bits.
So the last two weekends there's been a couple of good car shows near where I am. Last weekend was the Atherstone motor show, followed by the Hinckley motor show yesterday.
Always a good turnout, there was all the usual show fare - supercars, popular classics, kit cars, scooters, giffers talking bollocks, screaming children etc. Everything we love about a local British car show. Everyone was photographing the flashy stuff, so I decided just to focus on the shite - of which, I'm pleased to say, seems to be establishing a real presence at shows.
Let's kick off with Atherstone:
Stimson Scorcher. Because why wouldn't you want to ride a Mini like a motorbike?
Bit of late registration madness on this Panda:

Homebrew motorhome device. Apparently uses greasy bits from an Ambassador:
Looked cool, but bloody hell the build quality on these is visibly shonky! Mind you, not like Britain's own FX4 was much better...
Zut alors!

Interesting woodwork on this Moggy. Also proof that at least one Morris Minor was in attendance, which is a legal requirement for any classic car show.
Got a distinctly "post-apocalyptic Heartbeat" vibe from this truck:
Wedding car for the terminally unambitious:

Some Cavalier attitudes were evident:
For when you need to move a fuckload of eggs across a ploughed field:
Technically not part of the show, papped it anyway:

Moving on to the Hinckley show... I immediately got my phone out to find @egg's database. Unsurprisingly, this was already on it:
If my outdated 80s stereotypes are correct, those water drops mean this Lancia is mere seconds from disintegration:

I never understand how people drive these things around the small, tight streets of the UK. I'm glad they do, though:

Bit of AgriShite, for the farm pervs out there:
