Just got back from the wirral after collectioning @DavidBs MR2.
I have to say I've driven a lot and owned a lot of these types of cars now, I've had a few Mk1 and mk2 mx5s and this is definatley more poised (from what I remember)
The gearbox is so nice, handling is razor sharp and the engine is peppy. As with every 21 year old toyota all the electrics work and it just needs the air con sorting. It's been gassed but David said the fans aren't kicking in so maybe a fuse
Bruce the bull dog enjoyed the drive home with the roof down

yeah those bumpers are 500 quid on their own!

There is a guy I know called Lee who specifically breaks Mk1 TTs so not end of world if you get it, he will have pumps n hazard switches in stock ☺️

I can't decide the thing in the driver's footwell is a bit of metal that breaks off the clutch pedal. But then if it is, I'd have thought he'd be saying lack of gears. It's a little on the high price for me given the issues it has.
Carsnoreserve reading had a black one with more miles but low owners sell for £850 at the weekend. Relisted like the 4th time. Wanted to bid but was too busy welding and grinding in the garage, so missed my alarm to alert me to last minute bid.
Looks like the pedal cover to me if the next photo is anything to go by.
That one I roffled earlier in the year had a snapped pedal, it was surprisingly not expensive to fix tbf

Fair enough I just thought to prevent head aches down the line they are good when working but like you say, it's getting rarer and rarer they are properly with the newest examples being over 15 now. They are good cars though and peanuts to fix when the common issues occur.
I'll keep an eye out 👍

Any reason you have your heart set on a quattro Si? As you know I've had a few* of these and the fwd ones which came out circa 2003 seem to be the best of the bunch in terms of reliability iMe, no quattro issues. Better on fuel just a 5 speed box as a compromise but no less fun to drive!

I've noticed more cars recently driving around with their headlights on in daytime, but with the front indicators on on both sides permanently lit. The first time i saw this was on a BMW and i dismissed it as being some kind of electrical issue, but since then I have seen probabaly about ten different cars, all running with both front orange indicators permanently lit. Myriad makes and models, BMW, VW, Peugeot, Ford at the very least.
Is this a scene thing, or some sort of weird Fareham phenomenon and the owners/drivers are completely oblivious?
Also, I have noticed several obviously chavved up cars recently with some kind of treatment to the windscreen and front headlights making them sort of tinted but in a colour change film, sort of like late 90s/00s flip paint TVRs and things, but on the glass. Apparetly its legal, looks weird but there you go. Is this another new fad elsewhere in the country too? So far I;ve seen it on some mid-00s Subaru Impreza and a heavily modified Civic type-r.
There is an option on carly coding called 'us spec sidelights' or something along those lights, which will illuminate the indicator bulbs albeit dimly - not my cuppa, but also see a lot of scene kids running round with them near me too.

I went looking at an e46 today after seeing your bargain I couldn't help myself! Turned out to be a right nail, even for me. Struggled to go in to gear and the EML was on and it was in limp mode! 318 convertible too so it probably wouldn't pull you out of bed at full power!

One of my (many) old TTs. Sadly looks like it's ready for the bridge now 😢

Wow that is cheap, I think at last count ive owned 38 E46's? most of them coupes. That doesnt seem in bad shape for a 20 year old car.
this thread maybe of interest
The lack of running will probably be the elbow on the throttle body to the airbox. they crack and perish, most of them on that age are taped up , but not an expensive part from BMW.
