Got this the start of last week.
Ended up selling the Himalayan, I'm sure I will regret it as it was a great bike but hopefully with the new model prices on the original will crash and I can buy a cheap one and do a full off road spec one.
It's a DF200. Basically a DR200 made for more agricultural tasks, hence the racks, extended guards, plus kickstart. There was a DR200 in Devon I really wanted but the guy was messing about whether he was selling or not and then this popped up. Super happy to have this spec as it's rare over here and I wanted the racks and Kickstart. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the only one in the UK.
I just wanted a reliable lightweight trail bike. This is 20bhp and around 100kg.
Could have gone DR350 but would have had to spend a bit more and a lot of them looked very rough, plus the extra weight.
Plan is lower and push pegs back, new bars and maybe a bit of suspension work and that's it. This even had USD added as a bonus.

I've never heard of a DF before. Good looking bike though, I'm on the hunt for a crosser/enduro type project at the moment, so that's another saved search to set up 😆

Anyone have a small trail bike for sale sub £1500? Or an adventure/touring bike?
I ended up selling the Himalayan which for anyone wondering is a fantastic bike. I would 100% recommend one. I only sold it as I now want a slightly smaller bike for Laning.
    I want something like a DR200 DR350, XT350 etc etc. Would maybe consider a 650.
Would also maybe consider a cheap translp or something as well.
    I have a 2002 cb500 I could throw in a a cheap PX.

K11. Prices will continue to rise and they are cheap and reliable to run and repair.
107, C1, Aygo. They are mega cheap to run and spares are cheap plus you will always get back what you pay.
MK4 escort, mk2/mk3 golf, E36s can be a good reliable appreciating classic but they need a bit of love to keep rust at bay.
Anything bigger or premium has the trouble of one big bill causing you to lose money on it.

The XT felt more top heavy than the DR did to me and the DR would 'plod' really well, whereas the XT wanted revs all the time. Ive never ridden a DR200 i must admit.
The reason thr KLX250 wins though is weight, its so much lighter and steers where you want it to with much less effort than either of the 350's
Having said that i spent most of my green laning time on an 89' XR250R honda, and that was just fine for 99% of what i was prepared to tackle and no worse on road parts than the more road focussed bikes. Im now too old and fat for laning though

    Every Zafira driver
Usually a Chav Dad aged 30-50 mad at life and the fact they had to buy this piece of shit rather than the car they really wanted as the needed the space for 3 kids and all their paraphernalia. Hate their wife, life and every other person in the world and because of this they choose to drive round like a cunt 24/7.
Said Zafira is usually puffing out white smoke as the stem seals or HGF are on the way out, like they all are.

I've had a few, and think they are brilliant bikes. Fast, comfy and seem pretty bulletproof. My first big bike was a zzr400, which suddenly gained 200 cc 😳.  Brakes are a bit crap, calipers sieze at the first sign of damp. Put firestorm calipers on and that sorts that, most will have aftermarket exhausts on by now, but the original system seems to work best. 1993 is on the change. I like the early colours but later models are a better bike, 1993 on had a fuel gauge..
The 90s shell suit in the pic was my last one before I got an 1100.. paid 400 quid for it and went through it all. One of my favorite bikes.

No way? I thought id be able to stand on that. Must weigh in at 2kg on it's own. 4x m8's she'll be sweet. I put the weight on the front mostly, handles better that way. Tent/sleeping bag and light shit up top, tools and as it turns out not enough inner tubes up front.

First blow out Blackwall approach. Back to mine to get the levers.

Right then, this is the ex @SmokinWaffle and @StinkwheelBX that was free in the summer but I paid £250 for last month. Im not too much of a story teller but want to show what's been done and any updates etc for those interested. I've not owned a Citroen for 15 years and that was a *normal one so jumped at the chance to save this beauty. She was rough, slammed to the ground and left everywhere covered in LHM piss. When @SmokinWaffle messaged to say he was struggling to get it off his drive I honestly thought what the f*@k have I let myself in for 😆
@worldofceri delivered her on time and was very helpful throughout, almost like hes done it before.

And a huge relief when it fit into the garage fine

I'd been briefed the leaks were likely plastic return pipes which they were but also weren't. First tackled the "small octopus" which handles all the return lines and literally disintegrated on contact.
Managed to bodge improvise a repair until a more permanent solution be found. Not pretty but it's done the job. The next leak was found to be the NSR brake pipe which was sourced for about £40 from ebay and got this fitted. Surprisingly straight forward to do!

All fitted along with a few return pipes I thought I was home and dry, filled her with LHM and up went the front end shortly followed by the back. Brilliant until......another pipe burst. This was a long front to back line and covered a load of the cars underside aswell as the garage floor.
Was a bit disheartened as the price of this pipe seemed to be anything from £65 up to £138 which had me questioning if it was worth doing. I managed to find a local Citroen specialist near me and asked if he could help. He made up a pipe for me while I waited with right flares and connectors for £15, absolute hero.
I fitted it back home no problem and was certainly a lot easier than taking it off.
She's now able to rise and fall and without drenching everything in LHM....yessssss
Next up was the nicer to do bits, x2 tyres which were included were fitted
Door lock and card replaced easily enough and inside looking much nicer now although the ICE probably isn't up to much - a job for another day

Did a mini service on here, probably at least 8/9 years since she's had new oil and filters so had to be done. Definately looked ready.

Sounds like she's running alright tho....

Had an interesting time sorting out some bodgery in the rear light clusters mainly due to when the towbar was fitted. Dad thankfully helped fix a couple of connections I couldn't manage to trace the fault. Changed a few bulbs, cleaned up connections etc and a bulb board. Here is the donor car at the specialists (new best friend) I mentioned earlier...🤣

I was warned about a bad clutch cable/clutch but adjusted the bite point and seems to be holding up at the moment.
After sorting out a washer jet for her I booked an MOT and packed a few breakdown essentials.

Only a short distance to the garage but noticed a blow from the exhaust unfortunately en route. We stopped for fuel and love the way she looks back out in the wild again
I've never seen the boys show so much interest in a car going for an MOT....😬

All was going well until we found a bearing/Bush loose but not the end of the world so....

After 8/9 years in a barn to only need a bush, exhaust patch and brakes adjusting I'll take it. Absolutely buzzing 🥲
Booked in with my Citroen guy on Wednesday so should have some news by end of week fingers crossed 🤞
