  1. They still overtake it just takes a bit longer. To be honest I am not bothered about overtaking every car I encounter on the road anyway so it's not an issue. Also so many wankers on my route on bikes overtaking last minute I see it as a good thing as it removes some temptation. With added power comes reduced efficiency so I am not complaining with regards to that.
  2. Nice. I really love mine and for what I want at the moment its perfect. It goes anywhere, cheap to buy, cheap parts, reliable, easy to service, can put loads of luggage on it, fast enough to still be fun and mine even averages around 85mpg so a decent saving when I am doing 60 miles a day. The only thing about them is overtaking can be a bit annoying but otherwise they are great everywhere. @twosmoke300you really need to try one as you would have a good back to back opinion from your CB. I coincidentally saw another green one in real life the same you posted yours and I had never seen one before.
  3. Picked up the Dispatch that @EightMegshad in the classifieds last night. He brought it up to Gloucester for me. Great van size wise, way bigger than I remembered from my last one. Anyway, nice lad and super appreciative of him bringing it up closer to me. @gadgetgriceyits even closer to you now when I come to sell it eventually. I will get pictures and post more once I have it on the road the start of next month. I am after a roof rack for one if anyone has one they want to sell.
  4. The midrange torque is excellent so your weight won't be much of a factor. Let us know how you get on when you test it. When I tested the Himi I knew straight away I wanted one.
  5. See I am not a fan of the Scram personally but each to their own. The whole scram scene is a bit poser for me though. Yeah they are such good value for money. I looked at a Himi or a CRF300L but was concerned about it being more of a theft magnet and I wanted luggage options. Used market is crazy cheap even now.
  6. Prices may crash when the 450 Himi comes out later in the year as well if you are looking at used. Do you prefer the aesthetic of the Scram over the Himi?
  7. There is no way you will still have this come November.
  8. Sorry you mentioned about getting all sweaty and I assumed that's how you cleaned it.
  9. The best part is as soon as I finish this side I get to move onto the other side.
  10. Super lucky that I have a few lanes in my commute that I have been enjoying of an eve on the way home.
  11. I bet that is going to be a really nice ride. They look light and have decent power for a 400.
  12. Went to watch the Banbury run yesterday on Sunrising Hill. Very entertaining to watch. Done about 300miles on the Himalayan, recorded my first tank and I calculated it as 86MPG which I am super happy with.
  13. I had the 1.4 with that engine for about 5 years. It was a great car, yeah it was slow but it never let us down, cheaper tax and it was crazy frugal for a heavier car. Like 55mpg on a run.
  14. It has been a long time coming but I finally picked it up at the weekend. Really enjoying it. Got absolutely soaked the first two times I went out on it though.
  15. Anyone had any luck with cheap insurance at the moment. Hastings are coming back the best for me on the comparison sites.
  16. Linseed is good but a faff and can go very sticky if not thinned. Best and cheapest is cherry blossom shoe polish. You can even use the sponge applicator.
  17. Those continentals are so nice. I was thinking of not getting a Himalayan and getting one of those but I saw sense.
  18. @Fabergé Greggsmight still has his LML Vespa for sale?
  19. Honda Vision NH80 would be cool. I have never had one but I would quite fancy a 125 Innova for just general fun and the look a nice ride. Yamaha Townmate is a cheaper C50. If you go for Old German, Czech you will get a bit more for you money and reliability is pretty good. Gilera DNA for Motorbike/Scooter vibes.
