Highview Parking, as predicted, have sent me a parking fine for exceeding the 3 hour limit at the retail park. Hilariously, their photo of the back of the Princess shows it leaving on the back of the recovery truck. I reckon this is just an automated thing really, I was there for four hours and eleven minutes which is about four hours longer than I intended to be. At least I've got proof via my own photos, my insurer, and the breakdown company that I wasn't actually parked but had, in fact, FTP'd.
They're going to try to fine me £100 (or £60 if I pay now!) regardless aren't they? This isn't going to be one of those things where a human being looks at the situation and goes "oh yeah, extenuating circumstances, no fine." is it? That'd be too much to ask for in 2023.
Speak to the retailer's customer service, they should be able to help you.

We've had a little look around it together - something rather weird with the back brakes; it looks like someone has cut the top of the threaded adjuster off for the cables.
It's also had an intermittent non crank/ non start. I've put another fuse in for the starter circuit and it's been ok thus far. I've kept hold of it as, like a tit, I had to go digging about it's cambelt history and now know for certain it hasn't had one. I offered to do it for the lad gratis.

This morning I gave the Z4 a quick hoover out, and plugged in the Delphi to see what fault codes were showing - it came up with various codes for intermittent misfires, plus a couple of sensor codes. Cleared the codes and fired it up and other than being a bit spluttery for the first few seconds it was fine. Took it for a spin up the coast road and the EML stayed off, so that's good. It is going to need the front shocks doing sooner rather than later though - on dodgy bits of road the front gets rather bouncy. I was hoping to put it off until the spring but I think I might have to bring that forward somewhat.
This evening I used the folding electric scooter for its intended purpose for the first time, riding it the 8 miles to Wroxham station to pick the Getz up from where I'd dumped it yesterday morning to catch the train to Devon. It's actually happier on NSL A-roads than on badly surfaced back lanes, and it hummed happily along at 23mph all the way (apart from a couple of slight hills which knocked a few mph off). I'm not sure I'd be happy riding it along the same roads at peak times, but in the evening when there's not much traffic it's fine.
Didn't get much else done - I was rather late getting up as I was somewhat tired from yesterday's mission - but I did have a quick look at the Honda Elite I bought last weekend to see whether the engine was free - the starter button wasn't doing anything but with the jump leads connected and a screwdriver across the starter solenoid terminals it turned over - rather slowly, but then it's probably not moved for 15 years or so. It seemed to have compression too, so it looks like I've got a spare engine in case the Spacy ever blows up...
Whikst you are keeping busy, when did you want to pop over for this Velofax? 😁

I've had one of those burst after I've changed it before.
It's on the passenger side rear above those shit plastic trims. The one I did spat the large plastic bung out - it is held in with a big u shaped clip and the seal sits under it all.
I'm nowhere near enough to assist practically I'm afraid.

We were collected by @mercedade in a rather lovely Saab and taken to see this frumpy frog.
It was as described in detail and performed faultlessly on the drive home over the Woodhead pass. I hope the young lad we acquired it for will be happy with it!
Here it is having just made it back to Lincolnshire.

The jury is out at the moment, I shall give it another test when I've more work to do and see how it performs on smaller stuff like drop links etc.
It passed the mot today, a few little pointers about upcoming issues, but nothing serious enough to warrant an advisory at this stage.

I find it beyond cunty that these tossers are stood there filming rather than warning folk how deep it is. Granted the entry speed on a lot of them does them no favours, but it's no excuse.
