Well the dogs have been fed and Mrs Ruff and the Rufflets have gone to get themselves ready. It must be a good time for me to retire to Bedfordshire and contemplate my gift.
No more waiting, here it is:- A handy light up multi-tool and a lovely puzzle for when we're emerging from a food coma but aren't quite yet ready to move.

Anyone opened theirs yet then? Wibble.

Winter beater that nearly beat me, leaky, creaky but still reliable.
2007 Renault Laguna Initiale 2.0T Automatic
Came in as an MOT failure, spent a fortune on getting it sorted then sold to @Rocket88 with the Vectra, prince of Halfords. coming as a p/ex.
2007 Vauxhall Vectra SRi
I'm quite enjoying tidying this one, and it's not a bad steer, but inwill probably pass it on shortly to free up funds.
Out:
2014 Peugeot Expert
Sold via motorway for a decent sum in January.
2005 Volvo V50 Sport 2.0d;
Fixed it, tried it and just didn't like it. Sold after a terrifying test drive to a Bulgarian.
2006 Volvo S40
Sold to a heavily tattooed florist after notching up nearly 190k:
Non - Movers;
2007 Volvo V70 D5 Auto 'Hector'
Now MrsR's daily, really low mileage local purchase, just approaching 60,000. She has mentioned wanting something smaller though.
1995 Citroen Ax Vts
I haven't found time to do anything other than change the radio, still waiting for a quote to rebuild the workshop so I can get into it properly and rewire the engine bay.
I will fully update shortly, these are the edited highlights.

Core memories form - intrinsically linked to the object and the feeling it creates in you. Raw, visceral and undiminished by time.
Witness the ubiquitous Countach poster on the teenager's wall. An easily recognisable 1980s representation of the experience I describe.
But not for me. No. I lusted after something entirely different.
It's the tennis girl scratching her bum, isn't it?

So today was the day that the Lovely Laguna departed my driveway as part of an exchange programme with @Rocket88.
The return journey was provided by the ex- @Popsicle Vectra.
I had been tempted to g8ve this a tickle before, but now it was a lot more local, it made more sense.
I must admit though, I wanted to give it a make under so much... We begin...

Ahh GVW564H a bit of a mystery car that one is! I have known about it for years but dont know much about it at the same time
while you where stalking each other, no one happened to grab a Chassis plate shot did they?
its one I find curious based on the very short amount of time it spent on the road, and then got donated to the museum, I have to wonder when the museum actually got it?
I do almost wonder if its a private car? but I'd need to see the chassis plate to confirm that (or see its entry in the Essex's archives)
or if it it was a DHSS reserve car that got donated to the museum in the 1990's when Julian Nowil did his wrangling with the Ministry to get a few Villiers machines donated to museums before they all went extinct
Hope these come out OK, I checked over my shoulder, but no @DeanH loitering today.

Spent the day sorting this one out ready to head on to its new owner. I was prepared to give the garage that sorted the rear brakes the benefits the doubt alover the cut off adjuster but...
Computer, enhance...
Next to the brown multiplug is the top piece of the adjuster, the cut is fresh and no corrosion present, they've used the cable to do all of the adjustment on the shoes. What a bundle of fuckwits. I stripped the back brakes down, ground off the lips on the drums and adjusted the shoes properly using the adjuster in the drum, then removed the handbrake lever to replace the cut down adjuster.
Comparing the original cable (r) with the one procured from the scrappy (l)
I also snagged the battery covers from the yard,as they hide the wiring into the ecu. Whilst looking at the battery box closer, I noted that most of the wiring looms in this area were in the wrong place, I set about re-routing them when wait, what's this?
Is that a bit of a neb there?
Too fucking right it is, i wonder if that is what caused the intermittent non start?
A new bit of wiring let in and heat shrink solder connections used to join. Fingers crossed!

Got the cambelt and water pump changed yesterday morning, no pictures as I needed to get it done tonget to work on the late shift. The Audinhaving shat its brakes the day before!
I'm hoping to head out to the scrappy later and get a new handbrake cable adjuster to sort the rear brakes correctly then I can hand it off to it's owner.
I think I sorted the door locks out from locking when the doors are slammed - time will tell on that one.

Audi has disgraced itself - OSF caliper partially seized and cooked the pads on my way in to work yesterday. Limped it home to survey damage- pads that horrible brick dust colour, disc tinged blue.
Couldn't get the parts at the right price in time, so this morning ing before work I chucked a cambelt and water pump on the Peugeot 207 and finished it just in time to drive it to work for the late shift. Only the gearbox oil and rear brakes to rectify on that then I ccan bring the Getz home.
Meantime that has passed it's mot but needs inner front arb bushes and a strut top mount.

Belted a poor rabbit on my way to work this morning, arrived at work to find the fog lamp surround has escaped due to this incident.
As much as I don't want to spend frivolously on the Vectra, I am sorely tempted to replace the front bumper entirely.
