Chuck me over some details and location Tim, my sister has been on about replacing het ka for a while now.

A few pictures from the weekend:
The building finished:
Daddy' little helper means that all walls are now whitish...
Hairslide-cum-lockpicking kit:
Trev assisted with more tat hauling and earns a new sticker:
-
Well I couldn't break it, so in the end I had to pick the lock from the drilled end, accomplished by modifying one of Wifey's hair slides, just FFS don't tell her where it went!
After that the lock just pushes out, and the new one slides into it's place, neat!
Pics to come later, I am far to tired and painty to do them now.
-
Hmm, autoshite lottery car anyone?
-
I know where there is a very rotten one of these living in a hedge, I can pass details if it is of interest?
-
Managed to get a great deal on a door and a window this week, only trouble is there is no key for the lock, so some industrial sized swearing will be in order to remove it.
If any of you guys are building or upgrading your garages, I can heartily recommend visiting your local double glazing bods, and asking what second hand bits they have in, my door and window? £40. Thanks to http://www.turnersofhorncastle.co.uk/ for that!
Its not obvious but the bottom of the lock has been drilled already, so I'm hoping to bash a screwdriver into it and jemmy it round to remove it.

Fair dos, check the money sock.
Packaged, labelled and in the post tomorrow sir.

Could you do a Matra gear knob sticka pliz?
Sorry, I don't make the gearknob badges, they are just some left over stock I have, you have pm ref the other sticker though!
-
Are they transparent apart from the writing then?
They are cut vinyl, so they can be either, here I have put a layer of silver under the black sticker to make it 2 colour:
-
£3 inc postage? Colourwise I have orange, purple, white, black, blue, royal blue, smurf blue, purple, red, silver, yellow and green, so you can have any two (or 1, to use the car's paint as the base)
-
I will have to see if I can persuade the boss to let me go through the photo archive of our place again, there is some GOLD in there.
For now, have a shit picture of my shite being towed by our Dodge Shite50:

Hullo all,
As you will know if you have been reading my thread about our garage build, the building work is largely complete, save for a bit of brickwork and a Upvc door (from the skip pile of a local glazing fitter!)
However the although we've paid for the biggest of the work to be done, there is still a long way to go before it is the workshop I want it to be, and with Mrs Ruff being technically unemployed for the last 2 months, the workshop kitty is emptier than the eyes of a Tuesday afternoon lapdancer.
So over the next week or so, I will be sorting through my spares parts, tools and hell, even churning out any stickers you could ever want in order to build some funds up.
Stage 1:
Snap On Led AAA Pen Torches:
I'm asking a tenner each for these posted, they are a great little torch with handy pocket clip, I've kept the yellow one though.

Here ya go WollyDobbler, check this guy's tat out!

So on friday night, I prepped the slab for the new garage, this entailed knocking off the old cement and sweeping all the rubbish to one side, it having rained, it was quite a messy job, here I am looking grubby on the empty slab for the last time:
After collecting a car load of tat on Saturday, we arrived back Sunday evening to find the garage fairy had delivered us this:
This morning, I discovered that there is a 7 o'clock in the morning, even on bank holidays, after 2 hours of work, this is what they are up to:
And I think these bits go on somewhere too:
Amazingly quick work, and a huge looking space to boot!
-
JD power is basically bullshit anyway, if the one idiot who buys one of these things manages to get a good one, then 100% of Ssangmong tosso owners would have given it a 5star rating, whereas something that sells several thousand is bound to have a handful of troublesome ones to sully the waters.
-
If I may humbly offer:
-
I admire all the hard work, are you going all that way to connect it to the nearest lamppost?
If you look in the foreground of this pic:
The very patchy tarmac is where the supply for the road goes past our plot, so they are coming to connect it as soon as the garage is built!
-
I'm just waiting for this to happen:
It's only a matter of time...
-
Well Thursday night saw the duct for the cable delivered, so I chucked it into trev and took it to work the next day, threading these things is a pain in the arse!
1) Attach weight to string and poke into ducting:
2) Spend rest of lunch break swearing at a spanner that refuses to emerge from the other end:
Today, ably assisted by my dad and uncle, we got the trench dug, filled, ducted and backfilled, it took around 5 hours in total, and would have gone a lot smoother if some bastard hadn't dropped 3" of limestone over half of the land to be dug.
The crew on the easy section:
My paw after attacking nearly 40ft of 3" thick limestone with a mattock, my palm hasn't been this blistered since I discovered master...er...manual labour!
Father Ruff (closest to camera) with the trench depth gauge to his left, hard at removing the spoil:
Depth gauge in action:
He's smiling here, but after we lined the trench out with sand, he fell into the bag a little later on:
All covered up, you'd never know we'd been would you?
In the next few weeks, the garage should arrive
-
Sadly not, with all the garage work going on at the moment (this weekend is signed over entirely to digging a BFO trench for the power to be laid on...)
The xantia is a lovely motor, but I'd quite enjoy something else for the back end of the summer/autumn as once winter comes, I'll be dusting off the Delica instead
-
What a bastard! At least it isn't terminal Al! What are you looking for next?
-
Hmm I like this, not fussed on the wheels though, I don't suppose you've the slightest interest in either a Xantia diesel or an Ax with a vts lump crammed in (and a bit of cash my way...)?
-
Ok I'll start:
Phase 2 BX rear light clusters (pr) £free if postage covered
3x 175/60 14 Roadstone tyres, a little life in them £10 all 3
Saxo vtr alloys, all round, tyres shit £20
Zx Volcane TD rear silencer by Walker, brand new £10
Visa passenger side window regulator & window channel £20

Given that most of us by now, have had the perhaps one or two old snotters and the inevitable bootload of crap that comes with it, I figure we must be sitting on a collective fucktonne of shitespares, so how about a virtual autojumble?
To keep the thread clean a few house rules if I may be so bold?
- 1) Please only reply to adverts VIA PM ONLY, this will keep the thread easier to browse
- 2) Automotive shite only please
- 3) Posts should ideally include prices
- 4) Stick a location on
Not sure how well this will fly, but it'd be nice to have everything in one place...
Big shite for sale; Mitsi Delica 2.8td 4x4
in AutoShite
Posted
Well folks, times are getting harder here, so all I can do at the moment is thin out the herd a little
The car is a 95/N Delica exceed, on around 96,000kms 7 seats, automatic with overdrive and selectable 4wd.
It hasn't been used since March, but still starts on the button.
I am asking £1600 or near offer and I will put a fresh mot on for that price.
Pictures tonight
