  1. Good grief the descents are the stuff of nightmares, especially in that monsoon. Lovely to see TWC out and about again.
  2. Worst I've experienced was those awful instrument pods on the Fiat Uno, the wipers and lights were controlled by elongated switches rather than column stalks, absolutely awful. One of the pods snapped off and I managed to hold it on using some green garden wire, you all would have been proud
  3. A very rare survivor from my younger days a Corgi Rover 2000 (with plenty of dust or patina as It's now called): It even has Autoshite mode
  4. The Hat's thoughts in the negative column would surely be in the green box with a tick if getting an Autoshite review Lovely to see one of these salvaged they were indeed quite a well regarded and popular model when I was a lad.
  5. Some more terrible night dash shots, apologies it's a "modern" Honda Jazz.
  6. Yet more superb skills on display, great work in keeping a model we see few examples of on the roads these days alas.
  7. While wasting time on YouTube I stumbled over the TWC project and naturally instantly subscribed, and have wasted many many hours subsequently working my way through the whole archive of wonderful assorted projects and road tests I have to say seeing Mr Hubnut roaring through those splendid Welsh lanes is possibly the most terrifying thing I've ever witnessed. I freely admit that there is no way I could be brave enough to get behind the wheel of an Invacar, but I love watching those that do. Almost as splendid are all those wonderful fettling and repair vids, Autoshites answer to Edd China
  8. As a former Strada owner to be more accurate it should be rusty, and I really can't stress this enough that's very very rusty indeed
  9. Nostalgia perhaps but my dad had a Austin Allegro 1.3L in I think sand glow @1978 so a Mk.2 new from Tolleys in Ash. What a cracking car it was comfortable quite roomy and came with a rear centre armrest and velour (how's that for posh). He traded in an Austin Maxi (1750) which was also much beloved by our family apart from my dad's loathing of the awful gear-change, one memorable holiday to France saw us making much of the journey without the use of second gear! The Allegro was our first new car, and one I learned to drive on, I do wonder why it became so trendy to mock this splendid vehicle which never gave us any problems at all.
  10. I had to put the good book down the other night (Observers Book of Automobiles 1965 edition) and spent an age with mouth agape following the progress in this thread you sir are a mechanical genius. A quite staggering display of skill and never ending patience, more power to your MIG welder.
  11. What a splendid thread allow me to bless further doings with some of my "holey" water. Excuse my impertinence but the finest 1100 variant is obviously this one:
  12. Ah I had a 3dr 214 in poverty spec, cracking little car major annoyance not having swanky remote locking but it day have the bonus of an immobiliser that was forever going off.
  13. "Just Resting" Greetings, not a very exciting first post but a near neighbour has this T2 which seems to have been in the same spot for some time.
