  1. I just Googled PC's and that pic was among them, it appears to be from a thread on Planet Diecast: https://www.planetdiecast.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=102&id=82424&Itemid=0
  2. Okay I won't pick a Wols 6/110 this time (but yes I really want to). Money no object I might well go for the CMC re-imagining of the Jag mk.2, style of an oldun' with modern new mechanical bits, what are they £350k? Rather too boy racer for my taste but as a bespoke motor I could have it tastefully altered. However instead I'd probably go with a modest car collection, with change to spare for repairs when they all constantly go wrong: Wolseley 6/110, Rover P5, Citroen DS, Wolseley Hornet, Standard Vanguard estate, Rover P6, Jag S-type, Vanden Plas Princess 4 Litre R
  3. Ah getting misty eyed here about the beloved Maxi, my dad had a J plate 1750 in white, bought second-hand from Tolley's of Ash when around a year or so old. We loved that car, though he didn't love the gear change!. We had moved up from a Mini so it seemed enormous and had that luxurious wood effect dash, wafted along and just felt so secure. We made many trips to Europe as my Mum was Swiss we used to made the trip to Zurich by road, only having a problem once when second gear was lost somewhere in France! We still made it there and back though. Dad eventually traded it in at Wadham Stringer in Aldershot by which time it had turned from white to a clotted cream sort of colour, replaced by a sand Allegro and yes we loved that car too.
  4. ^^^^^^ Not even a radio in the S either, just an 'ole in the dash.
  5. Lovely to see a Mk1 again, I had a five door 70S it was a great car went along quite briskly if memory serves, some of the internals were a bit fragile and I really REALLY hated the instrument set-up regarding indicators and lights. I thought the 1L FIRE (I think) might have been a tad underpowered so forked out for the 1.3, however I had a 1L 3dr loaner from the garage and it went very well indeed and I could probably have lived with it and saved some cash.
  6. When I was in short trousers the fearsome Headmistress Mrs Gingell owned an immaculate sky blue Ford Zephyr {Mk.3} which must have been eight or so years old, and impressed me greatly. Most other standard 70's motors, but those that left an impression included MGB GT, Honda Civic {Mk.1} and a particularly nice sand coloured Rover 2000 {P6}. However the most exotic was to be found when I was at school in Norwich in the late 70's and a teacher owned one of these..... Oh yes a Borgward Isabella, don't think I had even seen let alone heard of the brand before, it wasn't as nice at this one though it was quite well worn and battered. Impressive old thing though.
  7. Another superb thread and yet more fantastic restoration skills on show, congratulations on completing so many projects! Especially loving the van action, for some totally unknown reason I've always had a thing for light commercials.
  8. I find buying, selling and owning cars too stressful so I have only owned a paltry selection: Fiat Strada Fiat Uno Peugeot 205 Peugeot 309 Citroen ZX VW Golf VW Polo Rover 200 Honda Jazz Ford Fiesta Honda Jazz So a four way tie, though I'm feeling more like a rusty Strada these days.
  9. Oh was superb thread, those French models are especially nice along with that Farina. Not my actual car but I had one of these another of the Ford Zephyr variants: Taking a peek at what the interwebs has to offer I'm rather taken with these: Jag X Ford Corsair
  10. My local town, Market Square Petersfield @1958, borderline excitement as we have Austin Atlantic and Chummy action.
  11. Just make sure you have PAS, not sure if this was standard fitting by the 90's but my poverty spec non-PAS 205 1.9D was an absolute bastard when it came to parking, you needed the build of Popeye.
  12. No personal experience but I've always liked the lines of the 1100/1300 range, a very familiar sight on the roads when I was a youngster. What I could never fathom though was why (as with the Allegro) the attractive estate/countryman versions were three door rather than a more practical five?
  13. I liked: .....If I owned my own oil well. Not really a huge Vauxhall fan but this looked jolly for the cash: Would love one of these but good ones are always pricey:
  14. That really does have road presence, looks splendid, congratulations and best of luck with the refurb.
  15. Double Wolseley goodness there.
  16. Another village motor, a 2000 Vaux Corsa that has been resting for a bit
  17. Bill Maynard of The Gaffer would probably have been an Autoshiter, remember his motor?
  18. A proper spare wheel, not space saver nonsense or those silly cans of goo.
  19. Ah just spotted this thread, HubNut is again responsible for my presence, I'm a bit of a fraud though as I drive a Honda Jazz and don't have any cars that don't go. I love the idea of owning rusting metal but my total lack of skills is probably a good reason that I don't. Obviously I love old motors and as my name suggests my dream car would be a Wolseley 6/110, just waiting for the premium bond to come up. I've previously owned all sorts of bog standard cars from Citroen, Rover, Peugeot, Fiat, Ford, VW and am on my second Jazz, so vehicles of the unexceptional have a place in my heart. Oh I also have a thing for old vans Bedford CA, Austin J2/J4, Thames, Standard Atlas etc, never owned any though obviously. Thanks for granting me admittance.
  20. It's alright I suppose, but my eye was more drawn to that gorgeous Morris Oxford estate *drools*
  21. More Merc Ambulance action (one not so careful owner). A Matchbox King Size no less. A lot going on with this one opening doors and steerable front wheels, how's that for fancy.
  22. The understated elegance of the Singer Vogue Estate, for those that have it but don't need to flaunt it.
  23. The correct answer to this conundrum is the Wolseley 6/110.
  24. Worst seats I've experienced were in a VW Golf Mk.4, the backs of which were literally hardboard covered with velour. This was also the poshest car I've owned a 1.6SE, it was by coincidence the worst car I've ever owned, so much for German build quality, the drivers window was constantly dropping out of the cradle (among other "foibles"), and I had to limp it to the VW dealer in Petersfield when I went to get shot of the thing, I doubt this helped with my p/x for a Polo.
